The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav xbox

The Dark Eye is one of the most popular role-playing universes out there, which makes the double helping of adventures set within the world of Aventuria an exciting prospect. That’s right, Daedalic Entertainment – the folks behind the Deponia series – have now launched their classic point-and-click adventures The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav and The Dark Eye: Memoria for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch!

Focusing on The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav initially, it’ll place you in the role of bird catcher Geron, who is tasked with helping the king establish peace. In order to achieve this, Geron must catch some suspicious crows that plague the notoriously superstitious and conflict-ridden kingdom of Andergast. Not only does the objective prove to be unexpectedly difficult to accomplish, it also turns out to be the first step of the greatest adventure of his life; one that leads him to the borders of the charted lands of Aventuria and beyond.

In The Dark Eye: Memoria meanwhile, you can experience two thrilling stories rolled into one. Traveling through different time periods enables you to follow the journey of Sadja, a southern princess who longs to be a war hero, and Geron, the guy we mentioned mere moments ago, who wants to lift a curse from his girlfriend. The quest to find answers soon results in a chain of events that connects both Sadja’s and Geron’s stories, threatening to turn the present into a grim reflection of a long forgotten past.

These epic adventures feature beautifully hand-drawn 2D backgrounds and high quality 3D characters, with voiceovers good enough to immerse you in the world of Aventuria. Whether you’re after The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, The Dark Eye: Memoria, or even both, we’d suggest a trip to the Xbox Store where they’re priced at £17.99 each and can be enjoyed on Xbox One as well as Xbox Series X|S. It’s also available on the PS Store and Nintendo eShop.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming review of this point-and-click double-header if you wish to discover more about them!

The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav Description:

Face your Destiny! In Andergast, whose inhabitants are considered to be notoriously superstitious, King Efferdan awaits a state visit from high-ranking dignitaries. For centuries the kingdom has been at odds with neighboring Nostria, but now first steps are being undertaken toward a lasting peace. But a plague of crows troubles the king, for the birds are acting with unusual aggressiveness, even attacking humans. Moreover, there are those among the citizens of Andergast who swear that the crows are bringing them dark nightmares. As the belligerent creatures infiltrate even the castle itself, the king seeks a skilled bird catcher – an opportunity for young Geron to prove that the reputation for ill luck that has followed him since childhood is undeserved. Following an audience with the king, the prestigious task is assigned to him. However, not only does his task prove unexpectedly difficult, but it also turns out to be the first step of the greatest adventure of his life, which will lead him to the borders of the charted lands of Aventuria and beyond. With a history of more than 25 years, The Dark Eye is one of Europe’s best-known role-playing brands. In addition to the popular pen & paper adventures, TDE has also inspired a series of successful computer games. The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav immerses players deep in the world of Aventuria, where they experience an amazing story and explore lands never before featured in a TDE computer game.

The Dark Eye: Memoria Description:

Two stories, two main characters, one epic experience: in Memoria, players travel through different time periods, while following two distinct protagonists: Sadja, a southern princess who wants to be a war hero, and Geron, a bird catcher who wants to lift a curse from his girlfriend. The game combines point & click gameplay with unique magic skills. Sadja, a Southern princess, has an unstoppable desire to become the greatest hero in history – by joining and succeeding in the biggest war Aventuria has ever seen: The war of the Mages, fought in the middle of an uninhabitable desert. Bird catcher Geron lives almost 450 years after the Great War. Geron’s eternal love, Nuri, has been turned into a crow by an evil curse. To give her back her human form, Geron needs the help of the mysterious merchant Fahi, who has magical powers. But Fahi is only willing to help Geron if he agrees to solve a puzzle which Fahi has seen in his dreams. The quest for answers soon leads to a chain of events that connects both Sadja’s and Geron’s stories, threatening to turn the present into a grim reflection of a long forgotten past. Memoria combines classic point & click adventure gameplay with the features of The Dark Eye, one of the most successful RPG universes known in the fantasy world. Point & click adventure game puzzles get a unique twist by adding magical features – and a wise, talking staff. Over eight chapters, players control both Sadja’s and Geron’s fates, involuntarily interacting with each other and bridging over 500 years of time. Each chapter in Memoria features opulent graphics, epic locations, a thrilling fantasy crime story and a unique puzzle design that differs from chapter to chapter.
