It’ll soon be time to return to Halcyon for more interstellar mayhem as we find Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment revealing first details – and dropping a full launch date – for The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon, the first of two narrative DLCs that look set to further the brilliance of the base game.

Peril on Gorgon adds a substantial amount of content to The Outer World’s darkly humorous universe with a brand new noir-tinged adventure that takes players to the Gorgon Asteroid. Once you are there you’ll find yourself investigating the mysterious origin of Adrena-Time, discovering new weapons and armor, perks, flaws, and the same freedom to approach your problems that made the original game so rewarding.

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon will arrive on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come September 9th 2020, and you will of course require the base game to hand in order to enjoy it. It’ll be available either as a separate purchase for £11.99, or as part of the expansion pass for The Outer Worlds which will also include the as-yet-unnamed second content addition. As soon as we have details of that piece, we’ll be sure to bring you them. Those with an Xbox Game Pass subscription will find the usual 10% discount in place too.

If you love The Outer Worlds – and seriously, there’s little reason to not – and you can’t wait for more reason to fall back in, then you can watch Peril on Gorgon in action in the trailer below. Should you have still not played the game, then well, our full review of The Outer Worlds on Xbox One should be taken in.

Let us know in the comments or via the usual social channels as to whether you’ll be picking this up or not. We’d love to hear your thoughts surrounding this, and the base game.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
