Surprisingly, The Sims 4 and Star Wars crossover wasn’t the strangest announcement during Opening Night Live at Gamescom. That award went to Bridge Constructor combining with The Walking Dead. Whilst we wait for that mash-up, the Journey to Batuu DLC for The Sims 4 is available today on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam.

As soon as your Sim steps foot in Batuu, they will be surrounded by the sights and sounds synonymous with the space opera. Stormtroopers patrol the streets looking for members of the Resistance, but will a tell-tale Millennium Falcon bring them unwanted attention? In this new Game Pack, players have the option to join either the Resistance or the First Order. Completing missions for either faction grants reputation points to help you rise up the ranks. Then watch as the locals react accordingly to your stature amongst the factions.

Reach high enough in the ranks and may even bump into the likes of Kylo Ren or Rey!

When not restoring balance or causing trouble in the solar system, Sims can also collect unique treasures and artifacts to take home with them, including a lightsaber! And in true Sims style, training with your lightsaber increases your Fitness skill. But the Star Wars look wouldn’t be complete without a droid by your side; collect scrap metal to trade them in for your own droid. The Droid Depot has a choice between R- and BB- series droids, and both are completely customisable to your tastes.

And after a hard day in Batuu, what better way than to go home to your new Star Wars-inspired dwelling. New themed interior and exterior décors will make sure the Star Wars adventure never ends. Even your droids will return with you where you can build relationships with them and control what they do through a datapad.

The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack on Xbox One is available to download right now priced at £17.99. whilst a £44.99 double pack combines the new content with the base game. Each of these will be discounted by 10% for all EA Play (prev. EA Acceess) members Whether this crossover is a sign of things to come remains to be seen, but this new Star Wars content looks really good fun! What do you think? As always, hit us up in the comments section.
