The release of Mortal Kombat 1 – the reboot of the iconically gory series – is looming. But the colourful chaos of Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 is still going strong. Today marks the release of a brand new character, powered by the wind element. Enter, Rashid!
Storm Onto the Scene
The stellar Street Fighter 6 wowed audiences when it released back in June, and now players have a reason to jump back into the fight. For players on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4 and PC (a brutal reminder to Xbox One players that this game is not playable!), Rashid is the brand new character to join the roster.
Rashid can be instantly unlocked for owners of the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions of the game. Alternatively, grab the Year 1 Character Pass.
Playable across World Tour, Fighting Ground and Battle Hub modes, Rashid uses the power of the wind to dispose of his fighting opponents. More specifically, his parkour and rapid movements make him breeze across enemies with ease. Read on for just a taster of his moveset.
Rashid’s Moveset
- Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
- Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
- Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
- Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™ V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
- Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows
Get Kitted Out
If you are yet to unlock Rashid through the means mentioned above, you can prepare now. You can unlock Rashid-related gear, emotes and the like in the Rashid Arrives! Fighting Pass.
Additionally, players can try out Rashid as an in-game fighter. This is possible by using one of the Rental Fighter tickets, earnable in the Fighting Pass. You’ll get a precious one-hour of time with ol’ Rashy.
Fight!
Rashid is now available in Street Fighter 6! Whether you will have him automatically unlocked, or are yet to add him to your roster, there’s plenty of Rashid-based fun to warrant a return to SF6.
Street Fighter 6 is now available for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4 and PC. You can find the Xbox Store entry here.
