Which side will you wage war on in Cross Tails?

We get worried if KEMCO go more than a few weeks without launching a new game onto the market. Thank god for the release of Cross Tails then. Are you ready for some more turn-based battling?

Available across Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC is KEMCO’s latest, Cross Tails.

A new old-school tactical RPG?

A tactical strategy RPG in which turn-based battling comes to the fore, if you’ve ever played a KEMCO title previously, we would guess you’ll know what you are letting yourself in for with this one. As always, it focuses on a deep narrative, one in which war is taking place, where a variety of characters get drawn in.

This time around and we see Cross Tails focusing on the Kingdom of Ranverfurt as the Hundian citizens within wage war with the Felis from the Republic of Hidiq. The hatred between these two sets is deep; so deep that it is imprinted within their own memories.

In Cross Tails you get to take in the war from both sides. That means uncovering secrets and trying to understand if there is a way to stop what is going on. There may just be a bit of a presence from elsewhere too.

Grab Cross Tails on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC

With upwards of thirty classes to utilise, the character development in Cross Tails seems high. We’ll let you know if it plays that way in full review. Otherwise we’d urge you to get over to the Xbox Store and grab a download. Cross Tails is playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, fully optimised for the latter. There’s a £24.99 price tag attached.

It’s also on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. The whole damn lot.

Game Description

Immerse yourself in the gripping tale of Cross Tails, a tactical strategy RPG set in a war-ravaged world. For over a decade, the canine Kingdom of Ranverfurt and the feline Republic of Hidiq have clashed, their deep-rooted animosity etched in the memories of their people. Now, as a player, you will delve into a story-driven plot playable from both sides that ultimately unravels the secrets behind this conflict and the influence of an ominous third power.

Engage in turn-based battles on a 3D quarter view stage, strategically utilizing the terrain and character orientation. With a vast array of characters, each with their own classes, experience the freedom of character development through class changes, skill trees, and faith selection. Unleash the potential of over 30 classes, from sturdy knights to skilled archers, and strengthen weapons and armor using powerful runestones.

Shape the fate of two nations in Cross Tails, where captivating storytelling meets intense tactical combat!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
