Love a bit of volleyball? You should join the Volley Pals.

Coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, Volley Pals comes about via the indie team of NAISU (previously behind Mokoko X), as they look to provide volleyball fans with an action-packed, modern arcade game. When it hits in Q2 2023, it’ll promise to have some unique gaming mechanics included within.

A simplified version of volleyball, it’ll be up to you to dink it up and smash it down as you strike for the win, passing across the field of your opponent. But there’s more to it then just hitting a ball over a net and in Volley Pals you’ll be able to wander into enemy territory, raise the net to gain an advantage, and even play a little bit of rock-paper-scissors in the process.

1v1, 2v2 or throw in any type of AI you like, Volley Pals should have enough about it to ensure that interest is high. When you include the cartoony visuals, it gets more exicting.

Key feature include:

  • Modern-style arcade volleyball game.
  • Play against up to 4-player local multiplayer or AI.
  • Various crazy levels with different themes and mechanics.
  • A special level dedicated to customise your own rules and preferences with a wide range of options.
  • Original and cute characters to choose from.
  • Stylish 2D cartoon graphics.

We’ll keep you in the loop as to how Volley Pals progresses ahead of launch on Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) in 2023. But if you don’t like the fun it brings, your only other Volleyball option is probably Spike Volleyball. The problem is, it’s not particularly good.

For now, there’s a trailer to take in. Give it a watch and then hit us up on the usual social channels or via the comments below…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
