Contrary to popular belief, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker isn’t the latest pretender to FIFA’s football genre crown, instead it’s actually a fighting experience providing the opportunity to become the greatest ninja in the world. Could that be your destiny?
It’s essentially a 4v4 online multiplayer fighting game, with team based modes to get involved in including Flag Battle, where players must steal flags from within enemy territory and bring them back to their own area; Base Battle, which requires teams to score points whilst keeping control of at least 2 out of 3 barrier areas; and Combat Battle, a simple team deathmatch type mode. There’s also a competitive Ninja League for players to prove their worth in ranked matches to climb the global rankings and earn rewards as a result.
Whichever mode you do play, you must make good use of the large environments and create a good team balance of Ninjutsu styles when choosing characters, in order to be a cut above the rest. The choice is yours as to whether you use one of the well-known characters from the Naruto universe – such as Sasuke, Gaara, Naruto etc. – or create your very own custom ninja on the road to becoming a legendary Shinobi.
If it’s a game you simply must own on Xbox One, there are two varieties of Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker available on the Microsoft Store in the form of the Standard Edition (£49.99) and the Deluxe Edition (£65.99). The latter includes the Season Pass, which gives access to 9 character packs as soon as they are released and a Jiraiya costume. There’s also a pre-order bonus pack to purchase for £1.59 and that provides early access to Pain, a Naruto 7th Hokage Costume, a Shinobi Striker Coat White and a Shinobi Striker Coat Black.
