A year ago players had the opportunity to head into the wasteland once more as Wasteland 3 released on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. Since that time the world has expanded with The Battle of Steeltown and now, with the Cult of the Holy Detonation and the Colorado Collection.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC, Wasteland 3’s Cult of the Holy Detonation is the latest expansion for InExile Entertainment’s award-winning tactical RPG.
It’s priced at £5.99 and sees Cult of the Holy Detonation roll out as the second – and final – narrative push, building out the base game in ways that we could never have previously imagined. it takes us into the Cheyenne Mountain military complex, all as mutant cults go about worshipping an ancient deity – the Holy Detonation.Â
The problem is, the Holy Detonation is – as the title suggests – a nuclear explosion that is currently in stasis. But it won’t stay that way forever, with luck sitting behind whether it rolls out to power the world around it for years to come, or to instantly level it without warning.
The final mission for the Wasteland 3 rangers, Cult of the Holy Detonation promises to be an utterly explosive way to finalise the entire Wasteland era. But with new characters, enemies, combat encounters, weaponry and armor in place , you can be sure that your squad will be tested like never before. If you’re up for some more turn-based action and have a copy of Wasteland 3 to hand, have enjoyed what The Battle of Steeltown previously delivered and wish to continue the tale, grabbing a bit of Cult of the Holy Detonation should well be considered.
The Xbox Store will cover what you need if you game on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. Expect to find it on PS4 and PC too.
But that’s not all and should you not yet have traipsed the Wasteland and wish to do so in full, the Wasteland 3 Colorado Collection for £44.99 (discounted for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate holders), will bring you the base game and all the DLC you need.Â
DLC Description:
Deep within the Cheyenne Mountain military complex, mutant cults worship an ancient deity they call the Holy Detonation—a nuclear explosion held in stasis. Whether god, science experiment, or accidental miracle, the Detonation’s energy could power Colorado Springs for hundreds of years, or level it in an instant. The warring cults have differing opinions on who should be allowed to honor their god, and you’re going to have to muscle your way to the altar. It’s one last mission for the Rangers in Colorado, and the outcome is certain to be explosive—one way or the other. Cult of the Holy Detonation expands the Wasteland 3 experience with entry into the Cheyenne Mountain complex, crammed with new characters, enemies, challenging combat encounters, and powerful new weapons and armor. Your squad of Rangers will be tested like never before in objective-based encounters that put a creative spin on the already deeply tactical turn-based combat. As they face overwhelming odds, the Rangers will need to shut down reactors, clear ventilation systems, and engage defensive countermeasures to stem an unending tide of dangerous mutants and machines within the dilapidated military bunker.
