When you’ve got a bit of spare cash in your Xbox account, there’s a tricky decision to be made… which bargains do you pick up? Well that’s where we can help with advice on this week’s Xbox Live Deals with Gold sale for 29th Sept – 5th Oct 2015. Let’s see what you should purchase and which you really should steer clear of.
Grab – Blue Estate – 50% off – £5.20 on Xbox One
This on-rails shooter takes us through the story of an LA crime bosses son, Tony Luciano, and his ex-navy seal turned clean up guy, Clarence, on a mission to retrieve a prized possession called Blue Estaste. Now, this may not have entirely impressed us when using the Kinect controls, but if you grab a controller instead, then this will be a decent and humorous one-off experience to be had for a fiver. Have a read of our very own review to get a more in-depth look at what you can expect before you splash that cash.
Leave – LEGO Jurassic World – 25% off – £33.74 on Xbox One and £29.99 on Xbox 360
There’s no doubt that the return of the Jurassic series on the whole was a welcome one, it didn’t quite translate well to the world of LEGO. The nostalgia and being able to use dinosaurs were amongst the few positives we found when we reviewed it but it really lacked in the variety of recognisable character that other franchises like DC and Marvel have in abundance. It wasn’t terrible in any way; however the current sale price is what you’d usually pay for a new release so it isn’t worth picking up until the discount is significantly bigger.
Grab – Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition – 60% off – £20.00
In Shadow of Mordor you join a ranger named Talion on a vengeance seeking mission across Mordor to take down the evil Sauron and his army. The Game of the Year edition provides additional story missions “The Bright Lord” & “The Lord of the Hunt” plus the Trials of War Challenges. This is one you’d call a no-brainer because, not only is it a fantastic game but it’s cheaper than buying the standard edition in the same sale. Your only regret will be not buying it sooner.
Leave – Mortal Kombat X Premium Edition – 30% off – £52.49
The next generation of Mortal Kombat almost grabbed full marks from us when it released, mainly due to it catering to veterans and newbies alike. With a great roster and its famous brutality, why on earth am I suggesting leaving it in the sale? The price is the issue because you could easily pick up the game alone for £30 elsewhere, thus meaning the extra £22 needed here for a couple of additional characters is darn steep. In fact you could grab it on disc then buy the Kombat pack separately for cheaper.

I’d say definite YES on the Kombat pass. I’ve been watiing soooo long for a discount and dlcs are hardly ever discount on fighting games. I’m just happy to get it for 21 30 was crazy. Mk9’s was 15!
