Gamers of a certain age will tell you that local multiplayer hasn’t been the same since Micro Machines back in the ‘90s. Those gamers would be me, and I really do have a point. Can this next game rekindle that multiplayer fire? Find out today as RC Rush launches on Xbox.
Things look positive for RC Rush. Drive your cars around dirt tracks, gardens, kitchens, dining tables, construction sites and more, even an Egyptian dig site!
With a list as impressive as that, we are willing to forgive them for not including a pool table.
RC Rush will have you driving around these locations competing for cups in campaign mode. Win the Grand Prix’s to be in with a chance of claiming the ultimate victory. There also appears to be no battle mode in RC Rush. Take that, Micro Machines World Series!
The more races you win, the more cars you unlock. And the more cars you have, the more chance of winning everything you have. In RC Rush, you can also level up with victories. Maybe these will also offer you rewards to give you the upper hand.
RC Rush also features:
- Race on over 50 different tracks – You’ll visit the scrapyards, playgrounds, a volcano and more! You’ll compete in places you wouldn’t normally be allowed to race RC vehicles, like the inside of an Egyptian tomb!
- Campaign mode – 100 race, elimination and time trial events.
- Grand Prix mode – 9 themed grand prix cups to unlock special RC trucks.
- Free roam – Explore the environments in your own time, or discover the two bonus crawler-style levels designed for exploration.
- 30+ unique trucks to unlock – Each one with individual handling and specs.
However, there is one glaring omission. RC Rush is single player only. Hopefully that doesn’t detract from the racing and overall game itself, but our review will have all the answers coming soon.
