It’s always good to see the very best games keeping fresh with the addition of numerous expansion packs, and when you’ve got a strategy title as good as XCOM 2, it would be criminal not to keep it at the forefront of our minds. And at the forefront is exactly what is happening today as the War of the Chosen has arrived on Xbox One – and it brings some fairly hefty content… albeit with a big asking price.
Priced at £34.99, the War of the Chosen expansion for XCOM 2 isn’t your bog standard cheap add-on. Oh no, this one comes with a price tag nearing that of the full game itself. But to warrant that price, we are seeing an extensive addition to the base game as we get to fight a new enemy – known only as the Chosen – seeing new missions, environments and a ton more depth added to the strategic gameplay.
You’ll obviously need to own the base XCOM 2 game, but should you need a reason to head back in, then the War of the Chosen looks to give that reason. Just be prepared to lose a few hours of your life once more!
