Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Director’s Cut now free on Xbox One

May is here and this month has plenty of Star Wars freebies to keep the May 4th puns coming for some time yet. But that’s not all we’re getting for free as another game has arrived today courtesy of the Xbox Live Games With Gold scheme. For those that have been keeping an eye on our articles over the past few months, you’ll recognise this one as one that’s been high on our wish list of games we wanted to accompany the monthly offerings for quite a while.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams is a game that has been available on Xbox for many years now. Those who used to scour the store on Xbox 360 may well remember seeing it originally available amongst the many titles available, and if you was one of those who experienced it all that time ago, you’d probably agree it was one of the best platformers ever.

When arriving on Xbox One it came over as the Directors Cut, complete with the Rise of the Owlverlord content in tow, and that’s the title you’ll find available to download free of charge until May 31st. At least if you have a valid Xbox Live Gold membership.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams places you into the shoes of teen sister Giana, who is looking to save her sister Maria who has been abducted into the Dream World, where the wicked dragon Gurglewocky is holding her prisoner. Teenage years are all about transformation and this unique stage of life has given Giana the ability to manipulate her dreams, allowing her to transform herself into a ‘Cute’ and ‘Punk’ persona. She must use her new found ability to jump between dreams and deal with and overcome her inner conflict as she looks to rescue her sister.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams has it all, enough colour to sweeten the senses, a classic soundtrack you’ll be humming throughout the day, and some of the best platforming we may have ever seen in a game. With 33 levels and plenty of unlockable content on offer, this is a title that will keep you coming back for more time and time again, and all this is available for free!

Of course, you will need a valid Xbox Live Gold membership in order to grab your download, and you’ll only have till the end of May 2017 to do so, but if you’re a subscriber then you’re all good to go.
