Turok: A gritty story of time travel, battles and conflict between Turok and the evil overlord known as The Campaigner. A story of fighting evil to stop The Campaigner from ripping up the very fabric of time by locating the eight pieces of the ancient Chronoscepter.
A story with bionically engineered dinosaurs.
Yes, with all the complex narrative the 1997 original release of Turok had, it is mostly remembered for the dinosaurs – razor toothed Raptors, Triceratops stuffed with artillery and a laser-guided T-Rex just to name a few. And now the time travelling warrior Turok is back with a re-release on Xbox One!
To navigate the 3D virtual world you will find yourself in in a bid to retrieve the pieces of the aforementioned Chronoscepter, and ultimately stop The Campaigner, Turok will be running, jumping and climbing this way and that, as well as using an array of wacky weapons on the multitude of enemies that will stand in his way. I’m talking the Quad Rocket Launcher, the Plasma Pulse Rifle and the scary-sounding Atomic Fusion Cannon just to name but a few weapons that Turok will be getting his hands on throughout the game.
But as with all re-releases and remasters, eyes quickly turn to how Turok has adapted to being on the big stage. A new visual engine is certainly a good place to start, and this is exactly what Turok has brought to the table to impress newcomers to the series and fans of the original alike.
