Ubisoft celebrate a year of Ghost Recon Wildlands with free update!

-

It’s been around for just over a year, but Ubisoft aren’t giving up with Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. In fact, they are positively pushing it even more and today have detailed the latest free update – that of ‘New Assignment’.

Arriving on March 14th 2018 (yep, that’s tomorrow), New Assignment is the latest free update for Ghost Recon Wildlands as Ubisoft continue to expand the Ghost War experience. Three new classes will be added and available in all PvP modes, with them coming as follows:

  • The Trapper: an expert shooter, equipped with a semi-automatic sniper rifle with the ability to mark downed enemies and deploy remote KO-gas traps to stun and damage enemies
  • The Guerilla: a support-class, specialised in diversion tactics and equipped with a smoke-grenade launcher drone
  • The Stalker: a sharpshooter, specialised in silently dispatching her enemies thanks to her special abilities

The inclusion of these will push Wildlands up to 18 diverse classes to choose from, giving players more tactical options and ways to approach situations on the Ghost War battlefield than ever before.

New Assignment also sees the introduction of two new maps, “Refinery” and “Cliffside,” available for the Extraction mode exclusively, along with a series of updates addressing player feedback for both PvP and PvE modes. A new map-voting tool will also be in place, giving the chance to vote for one of three possible Ghost War maps, each from a different game mode, at the start of every new PvP Quickplay and Ranked match.

You’ll find that the new maps and gameplay updates are available free and simultaneously to all players come 14th March whilst the Season Pass and Ghost War Pass owners out there will immediately unlock the three new classes with an exclusive seven-day early access. Others will be able to unlock classes with Prestige credits earned through progression or via purchasing them in the in-game store.

With multiple enhancements, improvements and additions throughout the course of its first year, Wildlands continues to be at the forefront of Ubisoft’s mind. Following the release of New Assignment, Ghost War Updates 5 and 6 will merge into a single update planned for early April, 2018.

“We want to thank players for their continuous support and feedback during its first year,” said Nouredine Abboud, Senior Producer. “We have much more to come and cannot wait to share more information with you.”

Don’t forget to check the new update out on the 14th March. It’ll be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
