New games via the Atari 50 Holiday Content Update

It’s been teased but now it’s time for Atari to build on the brilliance of their Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration with no less than 12 new games. 

A year on from Atari celebrating fifty years of being in the business with Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration, comes a new update for the collection. And this is one that adds in no less than 12 new games, for free. If you’re looking for retro or want to embrace the old-school, this is the update you have been looking for. 

New games – old school

Available today – from 2pm UK time – the holiday update for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration will push forth. It’s in there in which you’ll find some proper old classics too, from much loved fan favourites to some homebrews that are player powered. There’s even the opportunity to get involved with some long-lost Atari protoypes. 

Further updates are promised in the future, but today is all about the Holiday Update for Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration. And in that comes all of the following games… 

  • Adventure II (homebrew) 2600
  • Bowling 2600
  • Double Dunk 2600
  • Maze Craze 2600
  • Miniature Golf 2600
  • MotoRodeo 2600
  • Aquaventure (prototype) 2600
  • Save Mary (prototype) 2600
  • Super Football 2600
  • Return to Haunted House (homebrew) 2600
  • Circus Atari 2600
  • Warbirds Lynx

If you have a copy of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC, then you will be good to go with the new free update. If not, get over to the digital store of your choosing and grab a download. The Xbox Store will sort out Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players for instance.
