We’ve been turkey tracking in the Rockys, we’ve created the perfect ambush with new equipment, and we’ve been on a wild goose chase more times than we care to mention. It could be said that theHunter: Call of the Wild has provided a host of brilliant hunting opportunities over the years. But now it’s time to head to New Zealand, as we explore the wonders of the Te Awaroa National Park.

Available to purchase and add in to the base game of theHunter: Call of the Wild (no matter whether that be the standard original release, the 2019 Edition and that of the 2021 Edition, is the latest DLC expansion for the game – the Te Awaroa National Park.

Priced at £5.59, this all-new Reserve DLC will allow hunters the globe over to make a line for New Zealand, a land that plays host to a wide variety of exotic and exclusive wildlife. In fact, if you’re looking for some diverse hunting, there is probably no better place to visit – and thanks to theHunter: Call of the Wild’s shared experience, you don’t have to go alone either, with the DLC happily letting you take a friend along for the ride, even if only one of you own it.

It’s the habitat and wildlife found in the Te Awaroa that is most interesting though, with an extra 8 species of animals ready to hunt. These include feral pig and sheep, alongside the much requested Sika Deer; just be aware you’ll need to bring your A-game to find success.

Further to that and this latest pack also drops in 16 new story missions, as narrative covers a host of ideas that deal with local foes, old friends and the opportunity to find out the truth behind the legend that exists in this terrain. When you consider that the Te Awaroa National Park provides access to 25 square miles of land, you can be sure that a host of options will arise throughout your visit.

In all, features include:

  • Diverse Wildlife: With 8 species of animals to hunt, including the community-requested Sika Deer, the wildlife is both varied and challenging.
  • Full of Story: Trace the trails of history through 16 story missions that include dealing with local menaces, patching things up between old friends, and discovering the truth behind a long-forgotten legend.
  • Huge Hunting Ground: Stretching across a vast 25 square miles (64 square kilometers), Te Awaroa National Park is the ultimate hunting playground.
  • ShareExperience: Players that don’t own Te Awaroa National Park can still join another player who owns it at no additional cost and experience the reserve themselves.

You will of course need the base game of theHunter: Call of the Wild in place prior to considering a purchase of the Te Awaroa National Park DLC. But with many different variations on that base game – and some seriously high praise coming about through reviews – it’s something you really should have sitting in your digital library already. The new DLC is available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players to enjoy right this minute, whilst it’s due to drop on PS4 in the near future.

Check out the trailer for more info on how New Zealand plays out. And let us know if you’ll be packing your bags by posting in the comments.

DLC Description:

Nestled at the foot of the Southern Alps, this paradise is home to both temperate beech forests and steep alpine peaks. While some are drawn here in search of Sika Deer, others come to trace its trails of history. You can rest easy knowing your next adventure awaits in Te Awaroa National Park.
