Bending time and minds, The Plane Effect hits Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

You may have previously noticed a demo kicking around for The Plane Effect, giving players a little insight into the dystopian adventures that await. Well, now it’s time to get involved in the game for real as The Plane Effect bends time and minds on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox Series X|S (fully optimised), PS5 and Nintendo Switch, to go alongside a previous drop on Steam, The Plane Effect is PQube’s latest addition to the games market – after Nexomon, Kitaria Fables and Fallen Knight.

It’s priced at £12.99 from the Xbox Store (other store prices may vary slightly) and throws us into the life of a humble office worker. What starts off simply as the end of another day on the job, as you clock out and return home the weirdness kicks in as an otherworldly force comes into play. Your task is to make it home – however possible.

With some glorious visuals and a beautiful art style, The Plane Effect immediately strikes as you attempt to help the protagonist, Solo, make their way home. But you’ll soon realise that this won’t be an easy task and as you slowly traverse and navigate your way through the dystopian society that you call home, a host of puzzles and setups will come to the fore. And when the streets and lanes that you previously knew become a muddle of a maze, figuring out what to do and where to go should also be at the forefront of your mind.

The Plane Effect promises much and we’re hoping it delivers on all fronts. Stay tuned for a full review from us in the days ahead, once we get to grips with what the game brings. We guess it all depends on how quickly we can work our way through the mazes that we’re confronted with.

Should you wish to dip in yourself, get over to the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store or the Nintendo eShop and grab a console download. You’ll find The Plane Effect fully optimised for the next gen consoles. It’s on PC through Steam too.

Game Description:

A time-and-mind bending adventure game… It’s your final day at the office, it is time to clock out and return home – loomed over by a cosmic anomaly with an oppressive, otherworldly force. Helpless over the cosmos, all you know is that you must return to your family, as soon as you can. Find your way home by any means… As you progress through the dystopic cityscape, you quickly you realise all is not as it should be. Did it always take this long? Were the streets always a labyrinth? Where even is “home”? All you know is that you must keep pushing ever onwards, you must keep going. Navigate through a dystopian society… Navigate beautifully and elaborately designed, otherworldly environments and solve unusual puzzles to keep Solo moving through each area. Players have the option to figure out puzzles step-by-step with no hints, or activate a little guidance on your impossible journey through ‘Assisted-Mode’. A sinister presence follows… Keep Solo moving. Onwards, to his family, back home. Do not stop, do not turn back. Is Solo being watched?
