We may have seen TEKKEN 7 at Microsoft’s conference but Bandai Namco are now kindly confirming the news – it’ll be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC and TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 is now free on Xbox One!
Previously announced for PS4, TEKKEN 7 will now also be coming to Xbox One and PC with a release date of early 2017 pretty much confirmed. Spanning over 20 years and with more than 45 million games sold across the world and a huge fan database, the TEKKEN franchise is a huge one and it’ll now enter a new chapter thanks to a number of enhancements, reworks and new features together with the biggest move-set list to date, all added to the highly appreciative game series DNA.
TEKKEN 7 will feature more than 30 characters with a rather notable inviteee amongst them – Akuma from the Street Fighter-series! The demon himself known for his shoto-style moves seems to be close to Kazumi, Heihachi’s wife. With this addition, players will be able to unveil the concluding story of the Mishima family…and for the first time ever, the feud between the Mishima Zaibatsu and the G Corporation will be powered by Unreal Engine 4.
“TEKKEN is well-known across the world for its amazing gameplay mechanics, but also storyline. With TEKKEN 7, fans will discover the epic conclusion to this saga. BANDAI NAMCO Studios is utilizing the latest technologies in order to bring a high quality game to players across all major platforms: PC, Xbox One and PlayStation®4. Don’t forget: whether it’s in Tekken 7 or in real life, all fights are personal! Prepare to get in the arena.” Delphine Janczak, Brand Manager at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe.
To celebrate TEKKEN 7’s announcement, TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 will be free to download for a limited time for Xbox Live Gold members. Running from June 13, 2016 at 20:00 CEST and ending on June 21, 2016 at 12:00 CEST, the game can be downloaded via the Xbox One console, Xbox 360 console, and Xbox.com website and played on Xbox One thanks to backward compatibility.
