MotoGP 18 isn’t the only bike racing game to arrive today, with HAMSTER Corp porting over the NEOGEO classic, Riding Hero, to enable you to prove your worth on two wheels as a street racer.
Originally released by SNK in 1990, Riding Hero is a realistic racer – or was considered as such back then – with the added bonus of certain elements you’d expect from the RPG genre. The story mode places you in control of a young street racer who you must help to earn as much cash as possible to be able to afford better bikes, whilst also improving your skills on the circuits to prepare for the ultimate test – an eight-hour endurance race on Suzuka. The other main mode on offer is that of World Grand Prix, which is akin to that of a classic arcade mode, with the aim of having to win a series of races against the top riders in the game.
With simple controls and the ability to reproduce that arcade look and feel from back in the day, ACA NEOGEO Riding Hero is a retro as can be. Should such a classic be what’s needed in your Xbox One library, just head on over to the Microsoft Store and pay the price of £6.39 to make it yours to own.
