A chunk is taken out of Game Pass, as Maneater and five other games depart

There are games leaving the Game Pass service

There’s blood in the water, as six games die a death on Game Pass.

Leaving the Game Pass service today, in no particular order, are Maneater (Console, PC, Cloud), Bridge Constructor Portal (Console, PC, Cloud), Chorus (Console, PC, Cloud), Mortal Shell (Console, PC, Cloud), Serious Sam 4 (Console, PC, Cloud) and Total War Three Kingdoms (PC).

As Game Pass subscribers will know, this isn’t unusual for the service. When it comes to the middle and end of the month, several games reach the end of their year-long contracts with Microsoft, and they leave Game Pass. It’s a bummer, but we’ve had twelve months to play them.

The bloody brilliant Maneater on Game Pass

We’ll be missing a couple of those games. Maneater on Game Pass is brainless, bloody fun, and sometimes you need a cathartic munch through some swimmers.

It even put a smile on reviewer Paul Renshaw’s face, as he gave it 4.5 out of 5, saying “Maneater on Xbox One is bloody brilliant. It’s a massive game with a lot to do and a huge amount of content to discover – the locations or beauty spots are usually wittily scripted, and have quite a few nods to popular culture as well, making them entertaining asides. What’s more, there is a good story of revenge to follow”.

If you haven’t yet played Maneater, we’ve got an article covering the things you need to know before you go braving the depths. There’s also the Truth Quest DLC to consider too.

Sing for Chorus

A lament for Chorus, too, which feels like it only just arrived on the service. This beautiful space shooter burned brightly for a month, before returning to relative obscurity, but it deserved far more. We gave it 4.5 out of 5, saying “the overwhelming majority of Chorus is hugely enjoyable. It’s a vast game, one that is fast and furious with a story that keeps pulling you along. If you like space adventures, Chorus is an easy sell. But even if you don’t, it’s well worth giving it a try”.

While these games are leaving the Game Pass service, they are still available for purchase. If you hurry, you might also be able to capitalise on Game Pass price reductions on these games.

What’s left for the month?

Well, Microsoft are yet to make their mid-month announcements, so we haven’t got much information to go on. Know that we’ll bring you the news as soon as we have it. A couple of things we do know are that Dordogne is arriving on the 13th and Conan Exiles: Age of War (Console, PC, Cloud) will be arriving on June 22nd, as that was part of a previous announcement.
