A new three-piece teases the Game Pass community

New games on Game Pass?

It was only a week ago that a triple treat of treasures arrived on the Game Pass scene, but once again Xbox players can welcome in another three games – this three-piece will tease you into submission too.

As a service, Game Pass is second to none. Constantly adding new titles for Xbox and PC players to get involved in, the fresh rotations ensure that it’s something that most gamers crave. And that’s even with taking into account the fact that games up and leave pretty regularly.

But it’s the new games that we are mostly interested in – particularly today as a trio of additional gaming options arise.

So what do we have dropping into Game Pass today? Well, there’s the debut of Slayers X, an absolutely nuts spin-off to Hypnospace Outlaw. But there’s also some tinkering to be had in Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 as well as some grifting and comic adventures in The Big Con.

Slayers X

What can we say about Slayers X that we haven’t already covered in our launch article for the game? Well, not much really and we advise that you give this a once over as soon as you can.

You’ll no doubt be particularly interested in how this one plays out should you have previously played Hypnospace Outlaw, mostly as it takes elements of that before twisting it into something even weirder.

How it plays is up for debate, but we’ll be dropping a review real soon. Until that time, Slayers X – or Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer, if you want to give it a full name – is available over on the Xbox Store. Just prepare yourself for some utter madness.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 first dropped onto Xbox, PlayStation and PC in August of 2021, so there’s a chance that you would have already had a tinker with this one.

If not, the arrival in Game Pass makes this a bit of a no-brainer for the grease monkeys out there. A game that very much does as it says on the tin, if you have any interest in the inner workings of a car, or want to know how these things are put together, this is the Game Pass addition for you.

Expect a ton of detail though – Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 comes with more than 4000 unique parts for you to mess around with, 72 cars to rip apart (and put back together), plus a ton more.

The Big Con

And that gets us on to The Big Con – perhaps the finest of the three new Game Pass additions for today.

This is another that has been available on Xbox for the best part of some 18 months, but it’s a game that warrants a play, whether for free or via the usual Xbox Store price.

We adored playing through The Big Con for review, talking about how it is a game that is capable of offering up something for pretty much everyone. In fact, we concluded our review of The Big Con by summing it up in a sentence or two – “The Big Con offers something for everyone. It’s a tale that is both remarkably sentimental and utterly bizarre, and it’s one backed by a rich cast of characters and a world infused with nineties nostalgia. You’re not going to be conned out of your money with this one. The Big Con is well worth your time.

It’s for those reasons that we gave it a big 4.5/5 score. If that’s not enough to sell some game time, we don’t know what is.

So, have any of these new Game Pass additions teased you in for a play? We should suspect they have and you can grab them all right now from the Xbox Store, through Game Pass from today.

Prepare for some games to leave the service

As with everything Game Pass, whilst new additions are great, we need to prepare for those that up and leave. We’ve recently seen five drop out, with Lawn Mowing Simulator at the fore, but there are more that will soon be leaving.

In fact, come June 15th 2023, six games will be leaving Game Pass. If you haven’t yet played the following, get to it right now…

  • Bridge Constructor Portal (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Chorus (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Maneater (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Mortal Shell (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Serious Sam 4 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Total War: Three Kingdoms (PC)

The comments are below if you fancy letting us know your thoughts about the latest new games on Games Pass for June 2023 changes.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
