Airborne Kingdom is on Game Pass

Game Pass, eh? The gaming subscription model that has taken over the world is a near necessity for any Xbox players, as they lap up new free games on a regular basis. The latest addition to the Game Pass service is a top-rated city management game that will see you soaring high, as you embark on a journey like no other. Yep, Airborne Kingdom on Game Pass is one you probably won’t want to miss.

Airborne Kingdom

Airborne Kingdom first released back in the latter months of 2021. Playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, this is the creation of The Wandering Band. And that name seems to fit the experience on offer too, as you get the chance to take in some new city building and management ideas. The twist? This one is set up in the clouds.

Game Pass subscribers will have recently seen The Wandering Village pop into their lives, but whilst that was a game making the most of Game Pass and Game Preview – ie, not a full release – Airborne Kingdom is the complete package.

It whisks you high into the sky as you look to build a kingdom – an Airborne Kingdom in fact. Expanding your population and taking in new ideas is key to any success, with resource management key. The thing is, whilst quests are on the table, this is a procedurally generated game. And that means Airborne Kingdom will be different each and every time you play.

A top-rated Game Pass addition

Airborne Kingdom is a game that we absolutely loved upon release. In fact, a 4.5/5 review score of Airborne Kingdom meant this would be one you wouldn’t want to miss. And now, with Airborne Kingdom on Game Pass, you’ve got no reason to ever pass. Check out our summary in review…

Airborne Kingdom on Xbox is a unique experience for the platform, and one that executes its gameplay ideas comfortably on console. It’s got a great vibe and setting, and the gameplay itself is engaging as you relish in the satisfaction of seeing your sky kingdom come alive. It also helps that the hands-on gameplay has plenty of depth to it, complemented by a fascinating lore. You’re unlikely to find an experience quite like it on Xbox.

Sold? Even outside of Game Pass, a play through Airborne Kingdom feels a no-brainer. But now? You’d do well to grab a download of this one immediately.

Airborne Kingdom on Game Pass is playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Xbox Store awaits

Next up for Game Pass?

There’s more coming to Game Pass too. If you have a monthly or yearly subscription in place, expect to see the hotly anticipated EVERSPACE 2 arrive on August 15th. That same day sees a batch of titles removed too. If you haven’t yet played Death Stranding (PC), Edge of Eternity (Cloud, Console, and PC), Midnight Fight Express (Cloud, Console, and PC) or Total War: Warhammer III (PC), you’ll want to get on them asap.

Further Game Pass titles will arrive later in August, but for many it’ll be the early September release of Starfield (yes, finally), that should be circled on the calendar.

For now, let us know if the Airborne Kingdom Game Pass addition is one that will feed your fantasy. The comments are below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
