A Week In The Hub: 30th Aug – 5th Sept 2015

AWITHbrighterrounded

After a sparse couple of months, the games have now started flowing once more on Xbox One and Xbox 360. With that in mind, it’s time for all the developers and publishers of this world to hype their products to kingdom come…not that we’re complaining about the huge variety of news and reviews that we’ve had to choose from this week. The only issue was picking out the very best articles!

But we did, and the following from 30th Aug – 5th Sept 2015 shouldn’t be missed…

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided release date, collectors edition and pre-order details announced!

February 2016 can’t come soon enough in our eyes.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided will be released, a Collector’s Edition will be available and our pre-order bonuses will be in our hands. So whether you are only interested in the game, the steelbook, the 48 page artbook or the glorious Adam Jensen figurine, there is without a shadow of doubt something for everyone.

It promises to be the best game of the early part of next year and you really shouldn’t be missing out on Mankind Divided…in any shape or form.

An in-depth look at the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for September 2015

Ah, the start of a new month is always a great time to be a gamer…especially an Xbox gamer!

The Games With Gold scheme for September 2015 may not be on a par with the last couple of months, but with four free games being given away to Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners, it’s not something to be sniffed at.

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition and Crysis 3 lead the charge , but that’s not to mean neither Battlestations Pacific or The Deer God should be ignored. They are after all free.

New Xbox One Elite bundle and white controller announced!

A new Xbox One console you say? A new gorgeous white controller as well? God damn, we’ll take ten of each!

The Xbox One Elite bundle comes with a 1TB Solid Stat Hybrid Drive, 20% faster operation from stand by and a matte finish to die for. Oh, it also comes with the stunning new Xbox One Elite Controller, fully customisable for any gaming session that may be coming your way.

But that’s not all, the Lunar White standard Xbox One controller that has also been revealed looks like it could win the place in many a gamers heart. Surely you can’t turn down its sumptuous curves?

Velocity 2X Review

Every now and then a game comes along that wows you. We thought September would be all about Mad Max, FIFA 16 and Metal Gear Solid v: The Phantom Pain. We didn’t bank on Velocity 2X being so damn good.

A combination of vertical shoot em up and fast paced platformer, Velocity 2X by FuturLab has captured us in every way possible. The levels are bright and well created, allowing for some fast paced speed running or, in our case, slower ship shooting, plenty of replayability and mean that you can save some of the real big money you’d normally spend on the AAA titles and bag a digital bargain.

Velocty 2X is amazing. Have a read of our review and then get out there and buy it from the Xbox One Games Store.

Forza Motorsport 6 TV ad unveiled!

The week not only began in a big way, but also ended on a massive high.

Forza Motorsport 6 will soon be with us and accompanying the Italian F1 at the historic Monza this weekend was a TV ad like no other. With the 2017 Ford GT navigating its way through games of yesteryear from the basic Gran Trak 10, through Chase HQ and into Ridge Racer before exploding onto the Forza 6 racing scene, viewers were treated to a rather spectacular journey down memory lane.

Have a watch of it below. You won’t want to miss it!

That’s about it for this week. Catch us again next weekend for another round up of the best Xbox news and reviews from the next week. Don’t forget to let us know what were your favourites in the comments section below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
