A Week In The Hub: 5th-11th April 2015

Another week down, another week dusted in the world of Xbox. Let us let point you towards some of the best Xbox one and Xbox 360 news, reviews, opinions and videos from the last seven days in ‘A Week In The Hub – 5th-11th April 2015’.

…and this last week has been a biggy for new game announcements with a number of new games initially detailed by the developers and publishers of this world. Without a shadow of a doubt, many will be eagerly anticipating hearing more news regarding Activision and Treyarchs Call of Duty: Black Ops III announcement. Whilst we only have a teaser trailer to go by, odds are the latest installment in the CoD franchise will be a bit of a blockbuster.

Additionally, we fully expect the latest LEGO title to make its way to millions of homes around the world. LEGO Dimensions sees toys come to life and will be going up against the might of Skylanders and Disney Inifinity. Our money is on the guys at LEGO to win any battle they come up against and make everything awesome!

But whilst the two above may have been the big hitters, there were further announcements including The Technomancer for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with a 2016 release, a new Zen Pinball FX2 Marvel table which will be dropping pretty soon and the exciting prospect of taking on the role of Adam Jensen once more in the new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. If the previous Deus Ex games are anything to go by, Mankind Divided should be pretty decent.

If you can’t wait and need a new game today, then you could do worse than check out NHL 15. Now available as part of the EA Access Vault, NHL 15 is free to play, forever more, for all those with an EA Access Pass. If you haven’t got one yet, then it’s a bit of a no-brainer really as you’ll be given access to many great games, for absolutely nothing more than the small yearly cost.

With that in mind, let me point you towards our numerous reviews from the last week.

We’ve been rather impressed with a fair few of the most recent additions to the Xbox One games library recently and adding to that now are Tower of Guns (a fast paced random FPS), Stealth Inc 2 (puzzle platforming at its very best) and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (needs no introduction…it’s Borderlands on new gen with hours of content included!). All three should be picked up and checked out pretty sharpish as they each bring something unique to Xbox One.

We also gave our opinion on why Resident Evil Revelations 2 completed changed our view of the Resi Evil franchise, so much so that we’ve gone from worrying about each and every release from Capcom, to positively looking forward to what they will next bring us.

Unfortunately, we weren’t quite so impressed with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD but have a little look at our review and we’ll tell you why.

There has however been one thing that has literally blown us ahead in the last seven days. Let me leave you with the official Mortal Kombat X launch trailer. Stunning isn’t the word!

See you next week.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
