A world of wonder in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

If you’re a fan of the Avatar franchise and are holding out hope for the next film in the series, then let the video game world draw you in. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is here, delivering a world of wonder in the process.

From Ubisoft, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a game that is front and centre of our ‘best games of December‘ article. And that’s for good reason too as this one looks great, releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in the process.

The fight for Pandora

The fight for Pandora is a real one in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Running as a first person action adventure, it has you navigating your way through the open world of the Western Frontier of Pandora. Playing as a Na’vi, your goal is to find yourself, reconnecting with lost years and attempting to understand what it takes to be a true Na’vi. Oh yeah, and you’ll need to protect Pandora from the human militaristic corporation of the RDA too.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora comes about as Ubisoft join forces with Disney and Lightstorm Entertainment; James Cameron’s production company. Utilising the power of current-gen consoles and PC and set after the events of the very first Avatar movie, this one promises much.

Key features

  • EXPLORE A WORLD OF WONDER AND DANGER – Experience the epic wonders of the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen continent of Pandora. Journey through beautiful yet unpredictable open world regions, where lowering your guard can lead to deadly mistakes.
  • BECOME NA’VI – Harness your incredible strength and agility while customizing your character; crafting new gear, and upgrading skills and weapons to fit your playstyle.
  • SOAR THE SKIES – Bond with your own personal banshee that will give you an edge in aerial combat and can be used for traveling across the vast Western Frontier.
  • MASTER MULTIPLE COMBAT STYLES – Fight off the dangers of Pandora as you embrace the precision of traditional Na’vi weapons, including your bow and spear-thrower, or leverage your human training with more destructive weapons, such as an assault rifle or a shotgun.
  • AN IMMERSIVE NEXT-GEN EXPERIENCE – Developed to maximize the power of Xbox Series X|S, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will push the limits of immersion with extraordinary level of detail, rendering, density, and immersive audio.
  • SHARE YOUR ADVENTURE IN FULL CAMPAIGN CO-OP – Play the full story campaign in single-player or with a friend online in two-player co-op.

Buy and play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on Xbox now

There’s no doubt that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a highly intriguing addition to the gaming space. But there are a couple of options for you, with a Standard Edition of the game running a £69.99 price on the Xbox Store

There’s also the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Gold Edition. This comes in at a hefty £94.99, but it does combine the base game with the £32.99 Season Pass. It’s that which will add a bonus quest, unique banshee and a couple of Story Packs.

Need more? the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Ultimate Edition moves the price up even more. A cool £114.99 (or availability through Ubisoft+) adds further – the Digital Artbook and Ultimate Pack content. But yeah, upwards of £100 for a game? It’s a big ask.

Just remember, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a current-gen only game. That means you can play on Xbox Series X|S but not on Xbox One.

You should be seeing those options on the stores of PlayStation and PC too.

Keep an eye out for our review of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on Xbox soon.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
