If you combine Telltale Games’ storytelling with the Back to the Future world, then chances are you’re going to get something pretty good. And thankfully Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition is just that – and right now it is free to download on Xbox One.

Thanks to the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for December 2017, the game that celebrated the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future has now seen its price tag removed for the next four weeks. In fact, until the 16th January 2018, any Xbox gamers who have a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription can download the game free of charge – and it is then theirs to keep forever more.

Set just after Back to the Future Part III, the game sees all the usual BttF characters appear as Marty McFly attempts to go back in time once more. With Christopher Lloyd playing Doc Brown, and a special appearance from the legendary Michael J. Fox, if you’re a fan of the films, just want a new free game, or want to give another Telltale story adventure a go, then you can’t really go wrong with Back to the Future.

Make sure you pay the Microsoft Store a visit before mid-Jan, else you’ll be expected to pay for the privilege.

If you wish to know more about the Xbox Games With Gold free titles for December 2017, then we’ve got a pretty in-depth article. You may as well give it a look alongside our full review of Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition.

Game Description:

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
