Strategy games may not have the huge draw on consoles that they do elsewhere, but should you be looking for something which mixes the genre with some real-time action, letting you fight it out with some mates as you do so, then Siegecraft Commander should be one to check out.

Available to download right now on Xbox One, Siegecraft Commander comes with a £15.99 price tag – but for a limited time, you’ll be seeing that discounted to just £10.71. For that money, you’ll find a rather deep single player campaign that lets you build your fortress by catapulting structures across the map. You’ll need to think abut your ever move though, as one misplaced shot, or incorrectly fired unit, may just be the difference between success and failure.

Siegecraft Commander also comes with both local and online mulitplayer options, allowing up to four players to fight it out in a battle royale. Who has the quickest slinging finger? You’ll only find out by heading on over to the Xbox Games Store right now. Alternatively, hold tight for our review – it’ll be here pretty damn soon.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
