If you loved pulling off complex escapes from high security prisons with The Escapists, then it’s time to experience it all over again with The Escapists 2.
The sequel to the 2014 title has now arrived on Xbox One, PS4 and PC – with a Nintendo Switch version arriving later on.
Starting off by being thrown into one of the ten complicated prison complexes that you have unfortunately been enrolled at, you have one main goal – that being to escape the prison in any way you can.
Do you disguise yourself as one of the numerous guards and get yourself a key? Or craft yourself a menacing weapon from resources found in the environment and knock everyone out utilising the new combat system, allowing you to step out with little to no resistance? However you do it is up to you, but The Escapists 2 promises even more ways to interact with fellow inmates and achieve your aim.
But not only will The Escapists 2 have regular prisons to find your way out of, from the desert-y Rattlesnake Springs to the renovated Center Perks 2.0, but it will include three Transport maps, dropping you on a train as you ride the Cougar Creek Railroad, the boat the H.M.S Orca or the plane, Air Force Con. The premise of these unique prisons is the same, but the fact that you are under time pressure makes escaping much harder.
And of course, if you fancy taking your customized character to the multiplayer scene, then The Escapists 2 caters for both local and online co-op and competitive play – with up to four players dropping in and out as the action progresses.
Are you prepared to do whatever it takes to escape the life of a convict? If the answer is yes, then The Escapists 2 will have you covered – pick it up on the Xbox Games Store for £19.99. PS4 and PC players can grab it from their respective markets. Coming in alongside the main game are also purchases for the Season Pass (£7.99) and The Glorious Regime add-on (£3.59). Depending on how deep you wish to go with the base game will no doubt decide whether those two are for you or not.
Our full review will be coming your way soon too.
