Since its launch on PC in April 2023, EVERSPACE 2 has been a real hit with players. One has to look only at the Very Positive rating from nearly 8000 Steam reviews to get an idea of how well ROCKFISH’s space shooter sequel has been received. Now, EVERSPACE 2 on Game Pass, Xbox and PlayStation is blasting off to conquer all-new galaxies. And it promises to offer an expansive single-player story campaign and a wealth of space exploration as it does so.
Endless Exploration
We were huge fans of the original EVERSPACE when it released back in 2017. In fact, we were praising of its unique approach to the death and retrying loop of the roguelike genre. As EVERSPACE 2 launches on Game Pass, Xbox and PlayStation today, following a prior debut on PC, fans can expect a huge 30-hour campaign, complete with masses of space combat. Throughout both main quests and side missions, you’ll meet a variety of space-folk that you’ll soon be proud to call friends, continuing Adam Roslin’s adventure from the first game.
Death is not the be-all and end-all of the EVERSPACE 2 experience though. The roguelike aspects allow you to take risks when attempting to go for the best of loot, especially in the extensive endgame that the game offers.
Space Combat!
Sometimes there’s nothing better than a good space shoot-out, complete with screaming ships and lasers lighting up the dark landscape. Dogfights in EVERSPACE 2 on Game Pass will require you to pull off all manner of offensive and evasive manoeuvres. Why? Well, it’ll all be in the pursuit of new weaponry and abilities to dispose of enemy ships with.
There will be more than 100 unique locations to explore (and likely battle across). And that means EVERSPACE 2 seems to be contending with the top-dogs as the best space exploration title out there. No Man’s Sky, Elite: Dangerous, even Starfield needs to keep an eye out!
