Boom Ball 2 for Kinect to bring 2-player mode, new levels and more balls!

One of our most favourite Kinect titles in recent years has been that of Boom Ball…and so the news of a sequel and its new features is something of great interest.

Releasing back in 2015, Boom Ball for Kinect on Xbox One delivered a rather great experience. In fact, the Virtual Air Guitar Company ensured that it was right up there with the very best Kinect for Xbox One titles. But there was something missing and that was the option of playing through things with a co-op partner. Seems only right that Boom Ball 2 for Kinect will therefore allow such a thing.

“One of the things people love about Kinect games is having physical fun with friends or family. Boom Ball 2 adds the much-requested feature of playing together with a second player.” says Aki Kanerva, Founder and Lead Designer at Virtual Air Guitar Company. “Both players work together to complete a level – or that’s the idea. Sometimes delightful chaos ensues, which we think is pretty awesome.”

It’ll also be bringing 50 new levels and a whole ton more balls as you team up to smash cubes, throw balls and grab some big bonuses. With five beautiful locations to check out, whether you are a fan of the first game, or looking to get seriously fit with the second, Boom Ball 2 for Kinect will hopefully deliver.

Whilst there is no set release date yet in place, we can only hope that we won’t have to wait too long to check it out. We will of course keep you fully up-to-date should the Virtual Air Guitar Company deliver us that all important launch date!

Full features include:

  • Throw balls, smash cubes!
  • Two-player co-op!
  • Cute cubes, big bonuses and manic multiball mayhem!
  • 50 brand-new levels!
  • 5 beautiful locations: Tropical Paradise, Snowy Mountain, Crystal Caves, Cloud City and Space!
  • Every level can be played with 1 or 2 players!
  • This game is suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes, and may result in getting seriously fit.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
