Prepare to rain down fire onto the masses with the utter carnage from the latest frenetic top-down shooter, God’s Trigger, out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to wield both heavenly and hellish powers, then this could be of interest to you.

God’s Trigger, from developers One More Level, allows players to go on the rampage as Harry, a fallen angel, or Judy, a demon in either a solo or co-op campaign. Going it alone will see you seamlessly switch between the two characters, whilst partnering up with a pal leads to devilishly creative combos. Each of the characters has seven unique abilities that can be upgraded, customized and combined with others to create a visceral style of dishing out death that suits you. For example, as a game where any hit is fatal, being able to slow down time to dodge bullets or to become invisible will be crucial to survival.

In this world, your survival depends upon the ability to make split-second decisions, as well as being able to massacre enemies with a variety of guns, melee weapons, special abilities and environmental traps throughout the visually spectacular bloodbaths. You’ll need to skilfully slay possessed humans, doomsday cultists and supernatural creatures from the skies above. It’s going to be unforgiving and intense, when just one pull of the trigger is enough to kill the enemy… or you!

Should idea of an angel and a demon teaming up to stop the apocalypse, and spill a ton of blood in the process, God’s Trigger is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. As always, Xbox gamers can purchase it from the Xbox Store for £11.99, while those on other platforms will find it on their respective digital stores.

Keep an eye out for our upcoming review of God’s Trigger on Xbox One too.
