Make Way is going to be chaos

We’ve only seen the announcement trailer and checked out some screens for Make Way, but we think this one is already on the right track to success.

A chaotic cross-platform multiplayer racer, Make Way looks to be a real hoot to play. But don’t think you’ll just be racing around Micro Machine circuits when it launches later in 2023 – this one is all about creating your own tracks.

A DIY racer, Make Way comes from Ice Beam and Secret Mode, as they prepare to start laying down the foundations for release. It’s due to arrive in 2023, playable on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Should you Make Way on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC?

So why should you be playing Make Way? Well, for us, it’s looks to be a ton of fun as four players battle it out for supremacy. A weapon-fuelled, round-based racer, the difference with Make Way on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC will be in the tracks. See, you make these yourself, combining pieces together to create some utter madness.

Pieces of track will slot together, whilst hazards will be plentiful. Expect to see train crossings, loop-de-loops, seesaws and more present. It’ll then be up to you – and some mates if you wish – to tackle those creations.

Chaos looks to ensue in Make Way on Xbox, with no two races ever being the same. It feels about right then to divulge the brains behind it, with Ice Beam headed up by Tom Goodchild. And yes, Tom was lead designer on Toybox Turbos, whilst also has credit running into the Micro Machines series, GRID Legends and more. Now we know where the ideas for Make Way came from…

A list of chaotic features

The key features of Make Way include:

  • Mix and match unique track pieces and hazards for near-endless course configurations
  • Fight for weapons and power-ups to gain the advantage
  • Unlock new track pieces and vehicles for wackier races
  • Up to four players, on the same screen or online with cross-platform multiplayer
  • Remove hazards from your races or go full chaos mode and eliminate all safety barriers using fully customisable rulesets

Get ready to take to the track in Make Way on Xbox

Make Way on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC will launch later in 2023.

For now, take in the trailer and drop us an excitement level down in the comments.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
