It may seem like a strange addition to the gaming landscape, but there is much anticipation and hype surrounding Astragon and stillalive Studios’ upcoming Bus Simulator 21. Today the all important Xbox, PlayStation and PC release date is confirmed.
So, coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC, with back-compat capabilities covering the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 side of things, Bus Simulator 21 will release on September 7th 2021.
This will be the next iteration in the Bus Simulator franchise – with the original Bus Simulator having launched on Xbox in 2019 – and it looks to arrive in style as astragon Entertainment and stillalive Studios have confirmed that the acclaimed vehicle simulation franchise will include two brand new, officially licensed Mercedes-Benz eCitaro buses. This will be a first for the series.
Further to that, buses from the celebrated German manufacturer’s impressive Citaro and CapaCity series will also be featured in the game.
This comes about thanks to a long-standing relationship with Mercedes-Benz which has allowed astragon and stillallive to recreate eCitaro buses in remarkable detail. In addition to a small two-doored, 12-meter-long, maneuverable eCitaro electric bus with two axles, Bus Simulator 21 will include a large three-door, 18-meter-long eCitaro G articulated bus equipped with three axles and plenty of space for passengers. Enthusiasts should therefore also be able to hit the road with other Mercedes-Benz buses like the Citaro G, the agile Citaro K, an up-to-date version of the Citaro O 530, the CapaCity and the extra-long CapaCity L articulated bus.
In all, 30 officially licensed buses from world-renowned brands will be featured in the final game, as fans are given the opportunity to steer city buses, articulated buses, e-buses and a double decker bus while brushing up on their driving skills and taking in the sights of European-based city “Seaside Valley” and a new San Francisco Bay Area-inspired setting called “Angel Shores”.
Bus Simulator 21 will also allow players to manage their own local transport company. This can be done alone through single-player or with friends via the game’s cooperative multiplayer component. With two massive open-world maps, refined driving gameplay and a variety of expanded features, Bus Simulator 21 should provide the most extensive bus driving experience in the history of the popular game series later this year.
Bus Simulator 21 will release on September 7th 2021 coming in at a price of 34.99 EUR / 34.99 USD / 29.99 GBP (RSP) for PC (Wishlist it now on Steam) as well as for 49.99 EUR / 49,99 USD / 44.99 GBP (RSP) for Xbox One and PS4. The title will be playable on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X and S via backwards compatibility.
