Cannon Dancer – Osman breaks out onto Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

-

cannon dancer 2

You may know Cannon Dancer better as Osman, but no matter what the name, the big news is that it is now available to play on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

Available right this second, to purchase, download and play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch is Cannon Dancer; a game that first hit the arcades nearly thirty years ago.

It arrives on console thanks to the ININ Games team as they take Cannon Dancer – or Osman as you may know it better in the West – and push it out in both digital and physical fashion.

You can expect this to be pretty damn close to what was originally delivered too, as ININ Games have worked with a couple of folk from the original development team in order to bring it to console – the game designer Kouichi Yotsui (also known as “Isuke” and famous for his work on “Strider”) and the artist Utata Kiyoshi. With faithful porting in hand, this can be played in English or the original Japanese, with standard and challenge modes available.

Drop in and you’ll find a game that focuses on the near future of the 21st century (remember, three decades since this first released), as the world has been taken over by the most corrupt of governments. It’s here where Abdullah the Slaver leads, with only a lone assassin – Kirin – capable of saving humanity from all evil.

It’ll be up to you to take charge of Kirin and work your way through the madness that unfolds in Cannon Dancer. With foes aplenty, it’ll beup to him to sort things out, taking his inner strength forward, looking for revenge.

Take in the tale of Cannon Dancer and you should expect to find the following enhancements in place…

  • Save States
  • Rewind Feature
  • Controller Vibration
  • Customizable Controls
  • Graphic Filters & Shaders
  • Double Jump
  • Invincible Jump
  • Invincible Slide
  • Invincible Attack
  • Auto Attack [Speed 1 – 5]
  • Extra Credits

We’re not sure the story hasn’t been done a million times over, but we’re still quite excited to get hands on with Cannon Dancer now that it has broken out of the old arcades for Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch play. We’ll be dropping a review as soon as we can, but in the meantime you’ll find the game over at the usual digital stores. Let us point you to the Xbox Store where you’ll find it playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S – running full new-gen optimisation and Xbox Smart Delivery as standard. Price? That’ll be some £24.99.

Game Description:

Set in the near future of the 21st century, the world is controlled by a single corrupt government and under the threat of a evil sorceress, Abdullah the Slaver. Luckily, a lone assassin and top class agent named Kirin offers his skills as weapons for hire. Kirin must infiltrate the city to defeat several enemies, panic and terror. But once inside the cult’s main temple, he gets attacked from the police force and left to die… Only thanks to his inner strength he can break free from his chained imprisonment and starts moving with a single goal in mind: getting revenge against Jack Layzon, the Judicial Affairs Director that hired him initially. But this is far from enough: Three other members of the Teki wants him dead for personal reasons…

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
