Caretaker brings myth, legend, and lots of hiding to Xbox One

caretaker game xbox one

Whenever I think back to old Scooby-Doo cartoons, when the group of heroes reveal the true identity of the monster at the end of the episode, it’s always the caretaker of the local school that is the culprit. And just think, they would have got away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids. Caretaker on Xbox One takes the notion of the monster being the caretaker but I believe that this is far from being a kid’s cartoon show. Far from it…

Available to download right now on Xbox One, Caretaker joins the ranks of a whole host of excellent first-person horror games on this current generation of console. It promises to put the viewer into the shoes of an investigative journalist hunting down the story of an urban legend, one that focuses efforts on a caretaker of a factory in town. See, the caretaker killed all of his co-workers and is now back haunting his old hunting grounds.

For the price tag of just £6.69, Caretaker promises to be an interesting horror experience where the story is told through the player’s discovery’s rather than through voice-overs and cutscenes. In fact, it all sounds a bit like Alien Isolation, whereby when you encounter the caretaker it isn’t up to you to try to take them down, but rather find a place to hide and wait it out. And if you don’t hide? Well, you’re in for a world of trouble.

Features include:

  • Visuals variety as immersive horror experience : The visual variety of Caretaker chapters are closely linked with the narrative arch of the game.
  • Environmental story telling : Since we play an investigative journalist, every piece of clue we find regarding the background story will be more rewarding to the player.
  • Brutal A.I : Without spoiling much, you should only know this : If you sense or hear anything dangerous or sinister, just run and hide.
  • Haunting Soundtrack : Make sure to turn off the lights and play this headphones on.

Caretaker Game most certainly looks to appeal right away to those who enjoy a good scare, and with it becoming available right now on Xbox One via the Xbox Store, you’ll get the chance to play out this immersive horror experience. As always, we’ll be looking to cover with a full review of Caretaker Game on Xbox One soon, so should you be on the fence, make sure you take the time to check it out.

If you do decide to give the game a shot, make sure you switch off those lights and stick some decent headphones on. It is by becoming immersed why this could well offer the very best experience.

Game Description:

Caretaker is a immersive first-person horror experience. You are hungry for truth and perhaps this ‘caretaker’ is hungry for something else… You’re an investigative journalist who is “hungry” for a flashy news story. You heard the news of one caretaker in this industrial facility who has gone insane and killed all of his co-workers. Now, the urban legend is that this “caretaker” has returned to this industrial facility and people claim to observe seen “monster” back to life, in full flesh and blood. You want to uncover this myth. Afterall, you do not believe in urban legends, do you?
