Confront the monster within with Gruta on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

-

gruta

Hand-drawn cut scenes, narrative-driven platforming and the chance to run away to fight the monster within. Will you be dipping into Gruta?

Gruta is available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (optimised), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch as Ratalaika Games and the development team at Capi Capi come together to deliver a new gaming experience to players.

It runs a pixel arted visual style, with hand-drawn cut scene and a combination of 2D and 3D visual elements, all as players get the opportunity to play as a child on the run, as they head out to take on a monster who has spent far too much time causes problems with their family.

Mysteries, secrets and more await the adventurer within in Gruta, as you work through ever-increasingly difficult levels and stages, making the most of a sword and shield as you go on the attack. With no text to push you along, you’ll probably get to make your own mind up about Gruta as you go.

The question is, will the monster take you down, or will you be able to save your family?

The key features of Gruta as it releases on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch include…

  • * Stylized pixel art
  • * Hand-drawn cut scenes
  • * Levels with increasing complexity
  • * Mix of 2D and 3D graphics
  • * Original Soundtrack

Gruta is on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for £4.99, with a launch discount dropping that down a little post-launch. It’s on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch too.

Keep an eye out for our full review of Gruta soon.

Game Description:

In this narrative-driven platformer game, you play as a child that runs away to fight the monster she thought was causing trouble in her family. Uncover the mysterious truth as told through original hand-drawn cut scenes, completely without text. Use a sword and shield to combat sinister enemies while exploring the levels. Will you be able to reach the goal of confronting the monster and saving your family?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
