Crow Country’s survival horror unfolds on Xbox, PlayStation, PC

Bet you thought Crow Country would allow you the chance to fly high as a bird, overseeing lands, utilising an eagle eye? Well, you’d be wrong – this is about retro-inspired survival horror

Available today on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) is Crow Country from SFB Games. A new horror experience that has been fully inspired by the classics of the PlayStation 1 era, it will have you going deep into the madness of the Crow Country theme park; an abandoned land full of secrets and mystery.

A retro-inspired survival horror

Set in the year 1990, you take on the role of Mara Forest as you look for answers behind the closure of the Crow Country theme park. It’s creator, Edward Crow, has gone missing and you want to know why. The problem is the darkness that unfolds…

Priced at £16.74 Crow Country is extremely well anticipated. In fact, we’ve not just got it included in our weekly video showcasing the best new Xbox games of the week, but it’s in our monthly piece too. We’d suspect that a single watch of the trailer below will build the excitement within you too.

Dive in and you’ll find a world full of puzzles, full of horror, full of the need to survive. With new areas unlockable, the world of Crow Country will slowly unfold as you traipse, trying as hard as possible to not succumb to the horrors of the show.

It’s nice then that SFB Games have included an Exploration Mode in Crow Country on Xbox, PlayStation and PC – if you wish to just navigate your way around, without fear, this is going to be for you.

Adam Vian, Creative Director at SFB Games, said: “It’s finally here! This project has been a real labour of love for us, so we’re beyond excited to finally let people enjoy all that Crow Country has to offer. Personally, I’m so curious to see how it goes… I want to know which puzzles you enjoyed, which moments scared you, what rank you get, which bonuses you unlock – I think I’ll be glued to YouTube and Twitch for a while…”

Our full review of Crow Country on Xbox Series X|S is coming real soon. But if you’re sold on what is on offer, head over to the Xbox Store and grab a download. Just remember, this is a current-gen only affair. And that means it is only available for play on Xbox Series X|S, not on Xbox One.

Alternatively, the digital stores of PlayStation and PC (Steam) will sort you out.

Do you have what it takes to survive in Crow Country? The comments are below.

Crow Country Description

The year is 1990. It’s been two years since the mysterious disappearance of Edward Crow and the abrupt closure of his theme park, Crow Country. But your arrival has broken the silence, Mara Forest. If you want answers, you’ll have to venture deep into the darkness of Crow Country to find them…

A survival horror game, where you’ll test yourself against puzzles and riddles as you investigate the eerie tranquility of the abandoned theme park. Don’t be deceived by the whimsical surroundings, something is awfully wrong in Crow Country.

As you unlock new areas, backtrack and discover more, you gradually piece together why Edward really shut down his park and where he mysteriously disappeared to. You’ve heard some pretty disturbing rumors, but they couldn’t possibly be true…..right?
