Explore 1980s USSR in Bright Lights of Svetlov on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

-

Are these the Bright Lights of Svetlov on Xbox?

Receiving an averaged ‘Very Positive’ review-base over on Steam, it’s safe to say that Vladimir Cholokyan and Sometimes You’s latest release is a bit of a sleeper hit. Immersed within a sleepy mid-1980s Soviet town, your life in this linear narrative adventure is the true epitome of the monotonous life of the time. Let’s check out Bright Lights of Svetlov on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch!

Boredom & Repetition

Releasing right now on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, nearly two years on from an original PC launch, Bright Lights of Svetlov puts you in the shoes of an ordinary Soviet citizen as they go about their ordinary day. You’ll slowly get to know the family of the protagonist, and especially shall you understand the struggles that any family in this village will face.

Initially confining you to your house, soon enough exploration will pan out to the wider world. The locale in which you find yourself in seems straight out of post-meltdown Chernobyl. In fact, the whole game has a terrifyingly eerie feel to it. Throughout the course of Bright Lights of Svetlov, your life will descend from monotony to terror, as you undergo the harshest of Soviet trials.

It’s a journey we’ve been working through. You’ll find our full review of Bright Lights of Svetlov on Xbox ready for reading.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
