Fortunately we now know the exact date the narrative-driven puzzling adventure Minute of Islands will release on PC and consoles. That’s right, developers Studio Fizbin of The Inner World fame and publishers Mixtvision are gearing up to release Minute of Islands on 18th March for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will also be compatible with Xbox Series X|S and PS5, ensuring the majority of gamers have the opportunity to experience the intriguing storyline and distinctive visuals. Given that this adventure is a puzzling platformer too, there are clearly a lot of strings to its bow and may cater to a wide audience.
Minute of Islands wants to whisk you away to a strange, yet beautiful, archipelago; albeit one polluted by dangerous spores. The only thing that keeps the islands safe are some mysterious antennas that were built by Giants way back when they lived alongside people. Now though, something is causing these machines to fail, and the only person who can repair them is a young engineer named Mo. Equipped with her versatile Omni Switch tool, she sets out on a quest to repair the machines in the hopes of saving islands. Unfortunately, not everything is as it seems and the damage runs deeper than she could possibly have imagined.
It’s a sombre tale designed to make you examine your priorities in life through the protagonist Mo. As such, she delves into her subconscious, finding that her drive and ambition are not the assets she believes them to be. Throughout the adventure, you’ll notice every island is filled with detail, creating a world that begs to be explored. This illustrative style combines with a nuanced story filled and an atmospheric soundtrack to conjure a setting that feels truly lived in.
