You’ve probably seen a fair few platformers make their way to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in recent years, but what about one in which the hero is accompanied by a large talking sword? Well that’s the idea in JackQuest: Tale of the Sword and the epic journey ahead will see you slaying vile creatures in a huge fantasy setting.
In JackQuest, you’ll take on a rescue mission to retrieve Jack’s beloved Nara from the subterranean lair belonging to an orc known as Korg. Fortunately for Jack, he discovers Kuro, a spirit that’s been imprisoned within an enchanted blade, and so they join forces to venture deep into an underground labyrinth, each hoping for their own kind of liberation.
Along the way, Korg’s minion army and a select of colossal bosses will need to be defeated, with Jack able to draw upon some special abilities and wield magnificent weapons to aide in surviving these confrontations. It’s not all action-focused though as the massive interconnected world is full of environmental puzzles for you to try and figure out. Whilst speedrunning is encouraged as a reason to revisit the dungeons, those of you who like to explore every nook and cranny shall find hidden secrets within this world.
If the mixture of fast-paced action and exploration is what you’re looking for from a platformer, then JackQuest: Tale of the Sword is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. The Xbox gamers reading this can buy it at the Xbox Store for £8.39, while everyone else should visit their own respective digital store to pick it up.

You’ll want to spend your coins wisely and save for more expensive items that can prove to be life savers later on. Gain many powerful weapons such as swords, bow and arrows, and jumping boots. Learn special abilities including wall jumping, lightning speed boosts and using magic crystal power to perform a devastating winding windmill attack!
