Football and Fortnite mashup? What more could you ask for!

fortnite football

There is no debate that football is the most loved of all global sports, and it’s pretty much nailed on that Fortnite is a game that manages to deliver the same enthusiasm for many. So what happens when you find the Fortnite and footballing worlds combine? Well, for some, it’s going to be a match made in heaven.

Whatever you think of Fortnite – or football for that matter – it cannot be argued that it’s a game that many go-to for quick gaming fixes. It’s a game that has evolved massively since the early days, a game that has drawn in millions of players over the years, a game that continues to push the boat out in terms of excitement.

Now though things are moving on again and the Epic Games team are partnering up with no less than 23 of the most iconic football clubs from around the globe, and the Brazilian legend Pelé, to deliver a combination of Fortnite and football as one. This comes about thanks to the new Football Tournament in Fortnite, which lets players use their bodies, Pickaxes, power-ups, speed boosts and more to try to outscore their opponents and come out the winner in this 4v4 bracket style gamemode. Each game features two rounds, with the winners advancing to face off against and the other team battling for 3rd and 4th in the other match.

From January 20th 2021 the Pelé Cup will be taking place in Fortnite, giving the most competitive of players the chance to win Pele’s iconic Air Punch as an in-game Emote alongside a Kickoff Set for free. Further to that though and the top scorers will also be able to win a customised signed shirt too.

But that’s not all and from the 23rd Jan you’ll be able to choose from ten different variants of male and female Outfits as you go about representing your favourite team in-game. Each Outfit can be swapped to any of the 23 football clubs as follows…

  • Manchester City FC
  • Juventus
  • AC Milan
  • Inter Milan
  • AS Roma
  • Seattle Sounders FC
  • Atlanta United FC
  • Los Angeles FC
  • Santos FC
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers FC
  • West Ham United FC
  • Sevilla FC
  • Sporting CP
  • Borussia Mönchengladbach
  • FC Schalke 04
  • VFL Wolfsburg
  • Rangers FC
  • Celtic FC
  • Cerezo Osaka
  • Melbourne City FC
  • Sydney FC
  • Western Sydney Wanderers
  • EC Bahia

Interested in how this Fortnite/football mashup will play out? Just fire up the game and get yourself involved. And if you haven’t got a copy of Fortnite already, the Xbox Store is right here for the usual download.
