Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges Guide Series 22 – Summer

-

Find us on Threads

Another new series, another new chance to do some different stuff in Forza Horizon 5, and this time the theme of the season is “Upgrade Heroes”.

Series 22 kicks off with summer and the return of the guys from Donut Media, this time with their High/Low upgrade challenges. These centre around two identical cars, in this case Nissan 350Z’s, and then one is upgraded with expensive, high end parts and the other, well, isn’t! This will form the basis for a new story event which promises to be interesting.

Other than that, the new season shakes things up a bit in regards to the car classes for the PR Stunts and so on, and will see us being able to showcase some different cars and classes than we have done previously.

So without further ado, let’s jump straight in and see what is on the Forza Horizon 5 menu this week – we’ve got tons of cars and tunes that should help you complete the challenges on offer in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 22 Summer.

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Playing Around

The subject of this week’s car challenge is a car that many of us will have thought about owning at one time or another – the 1992 Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk2.

Not the most aspirational of cars, unless you are one of those die hard VW fans, but it certainly fits the whole Upgrade Hero vibe.

Should you not have one in your garage, it is available from the Autoshow.

Chapter 1 – Gone Golfing

Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete!

Chapter 2 – Back for Seconds

As the Mk 2 is bigger than the first, is it fast still? Well, we need to earn three stars at speed traps to see. Luckily, not all at once!

Pick your best and have a go.

Chapter 3 – Smiles for Miles

Now we need to use this car’s awesome standard speed (kidding!) to get five Speed skills.

Best hit the highway.

Chapter 4 – Time to Tune

Finally, we need to tune our little Golf up to B Class and win a street race. I made mine and the share phrase is “MK2 B”

And with that, the weekly challenge is complete and we are five points closer to the reward cars of Series 22. You like reward cars, yeah?

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

As Summer has arrived, a certain moistness hits the air and it is time to check out this week’s collection of challenges.

The Trial – Tune It Up – Nissan Silvia

The Trial this week sees us limited to only using Nissan Silvia Cars, and then only ones that have been tuned up to A Class 800.

There isn’t a wide choice of vehicles, and so I went with Mona Lisa herself, the Silvia K’s Aero. My share phrase is “Silvia a” as share codes are obviously not allowed any more.

Now, as usual, we need to hopefully find some random players from the internet who have not only heard of teamwork, but choose to practise it, and so this is a challenge. Still, fingers crossed, eh?

Should we manage to win two out of three races, a lovely McLaren 650S is our reward.

Eventlab 1 – TYPEHARDFARK presents Los Granjas Circuit

For this event, we need only use an S1 Class 900 car of any flavour.

I went with a Nissan Skyline GT-R from 1993, the R32 model, and the share code is secret, as always. But do a search for Sky S1 and you should find it.

The course itself is pretty good actually, with a nice flow. One of the better ones I’ve driven.

The prize for completing this race is a Donut Media HRSPRS Relaxed Fit Tee.

Eventlab 2 – ICHICHENS presents Granithaupt Bergpass

For this German sounding track, we need a Japanese car to a maximum of B Class 700. Yep, makes sense to me too!

I went with a stock Civic Type-R from 2016, working on the basis that tuning is irrelevant in a one horse race. The race in question is very tricky, with no run off on the bends, so the brakes are your friends. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the last.

A new car horn is yours for doing this – a Donut Media “Mo Powa Baby” horn.

Horizon Arcade Mini Games

We have to merely complete all three rounds of a Horizon mini game to beat this challenge.

Pick your poison – be it speed, chaos, wreckage, drift or air, and if you do pick drift, like anyone sensible would, then the Formula Drift Mk IV Supra is all the car you need.

PR Stunt 1 – Speed Trap – Cloverleaf

The new vehicles for the PR Stunts this week are all the same class, a Retro Sports Car tuned up to S1 Class 900.

The speed we need to achieve here is 200 mph, and in order to do it, I chose a TVR Sagaris, with share phrase “Sagaris”. Come at it from the north for the best chance.

A Super Wheelspin will be yours if you drive fast enough.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Trebol

Average speed is what we are after this time, in the same class of car as before, and so I stayed in the Sagaris from above. We need to maintain 220 mph.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Drift Zone – Las Curvas

Same class of car, but a different challenge this time – can you score more than 75,000 drift points in a single run through the zone? Well, to give me a chance, I chose a Mazda Rx-7 Spirit R Type A from 2002, holder of the longest name ever given to a car!

The share code is : 333240850.

Yet another Super Wheelspin to add to the pile.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Have a Go Hero

We need an Upgrade Hero car for this championship, and so I went with a Ford Focus RS from 2017, as this is apparently one.

The share code for mine is : 151963655. It comes with dirt tyres on, but it is good to have a challenge, right?

For winning outright solo, or best two out of three in a convoy, we can take home a Honda S200.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Take it to the Limit

As the strains of The Eagles drift through my mind, we need to utilise an Extreme Track Toy in an S2 Class 998 flavour car to take part. Well, I decided to go big, and used a Bugatti Divo, and the share code is : 169915677.

For winning best two out of three in a convoy, or the whole thing solo, a 1971 Nissan GT-R will be yours. Antique!

Part 3: Other Challenges

Series 22 – Summer drops in the Photo Challenge, a Treasure Hunt and the Horizon open. The new story chapters also make an appearance.

Photo Challenge – #ShootingStars

This week, the challenge is to take a Mercedes Benz G55 AMG to the lovely Star-27 mural in Mulege, and snap a photo of it. Should be easier than finding some camera equipment in a field, no?

I’ll post the location and my artistic effort below for your admiration/ridicule.

The reward? A new top, a Star-27 Jumper no less. Makes it all worthwhile.

Treasure Hunt – In Focus

A picture of a Ford Focus RS from 2009, accompanies this clue, and the clue reads “Surely, you can’t afford to miss this photo opportunity”.

Well, let’s take a picture of the Focus, shall we? Well, I used the 2017 model because I am a rebel!

The location of the treasure chest is shown below, and it has 100 Forzathon points inside.

Horizon Open – U Can’t Touch This

Play Flag Rush, score three flags, and this challenge will be complete. What could be easier?

There’s not many tips I can give for this, except don’t let the enemy crash into you.

For completing this challenge, we can get a Mercedes Benz E-63. Groovy.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Trap – Hammers Shadow

Can we take an A Class 800 Lexus and zoom past the camera at more than 170 mph?

Well, I had a crack in the same SC 300 I used to jump below, and it turns out the answer is yes! Approach from the north for the best run up.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Hyper Drive

An S1 Class 900 car, from the 2020’s? Well, as always, the answer to the question is a Mustang, and I took the Shelby GT500 from 2020 to this race. The share code for mine is : 335181307.

Winning all the races, or two out of three in a convoy, will get us a new Orange Hot Wheels Hoodie. Yay…

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon

Bit of a change this week, as we are restricted to a Lexus with a tuning ceiling of A Class 800. I went for the only Lexus SC300, as it had the most tuning room. My share code is a closely guarded secret, as usual, so do a search for my name (Red620Ti) and the keyword “Lex”.

A  jump of 250m is required to lift the prize.

That prize being a Super Wheelspin.

Seasonal Championship – On the Trail

We need a Toyota for this series of races, to no more than a C Class 600, and so the obvious choice if the Celica ST205. The share code for mine is : 861264673.

For winning out, we can take away a new car, a Renault 5 Turbo. Proper widow maker!

With Series 22 just bursting into life, new monthly rewards are up for grabs. For a mere 80 points, you can take home a Pagani Huayra BC and for 160 points you can have a #64 Nissan Z, a nice looking drift car. The Z is exclusive to this reward as well, so go for it!

The new monthly Rivals challenges are also live – whack in some clean laps around Copper Canyon and the other around Los Jardines circuit. Make sure you take these in at some point during Series 22 – this is your first chance at the huge amount of points on offer.

Grab enough points and Spring will also see you gifted with the AMG GT Black for 20 points and the mighty Lynk & Co 03+ for 40 points.

And that rounds off the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 22 Summer. We’ll be back with a similar guide for the Autumn, Winter and Spring months. Before we know it, Series 23 will be here.

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

As always, the comments section is below. We’d love to know if these cars and tunes have helped you out.
