While the fantastic F1 2020 may be the official videogame of the 2020 FIA Formula One World Championship, Codemasters aren’t forgetting about the second tier of formula racing, Formula Two. Thanks to a free update on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, you’ll now have access to the full F2 2020 line-up featuring all 11 teams, cars, and drivers.

Having just finished off the season in Bahrain, where Prema Racing’s Mick Schumacher was crowned the new FIA Formula 2 Champion, it’s perfect timing to release this free F2 2020 season update for F1 2020. Now, you’ll be able to rewrite history and help Callum Ilott or Yuki Tsunoda claim the overall victory instead. In fact, with every driver available and up-to-date, you could even perform a miracle using Guilherme Samaia.

The F2 option in-game replicates its real-world counterpart, featuring 12 weekends and each is made up of two races. The first, known as the Feature Race, follows the standard format, seeing drivers lining up based on their qualifying times, and points awarded to those finishing in the top 10. The second, Sprint Race, sees the Feature Race top eight positions reversed for a shorter race, with fewer points awarded to the top eight drivers. For both races, there are two additional points available for whoever sets the fastest lap.

“Having witnessed an incredible end of season battle between Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott, we’re delighted to give players the free F2 2020 Season update,” said Lee Mather, F1 Franchise Game Director at Codemasters. “F2 has proved very popular with our players since its debut in F1 2019, and we know they will enjoy re-writing recent history with the free 2020 update.”

In order to experience everything the F2 2020 season update has to offer, just fire up F1 2020 on Xbox One, PS4 or PC and it should begin installing for free. Let us know which team you’ll be driving for first!
