Get Lost Between Worlds with Far Cry 6

far cry 6 lost between worlds

It’s been a little while since Far Cry 6 was at the forefront of our minds, but right now it’s time to go and get Lost Between Worlds, with the latest major expansion for the game.

Having first released back in October 2021, Ubisoft then continued the Far Cry 6 madness with a triple DLC drop, taking us deep into the mind of Vaas, to be controlled by Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min and to sow some more seeds with the collapse of Far Cry 5’s Joseph

Far Cry 6 as a base game takes players off to Yara – a paradise that has pretty much been frozen in time. It’s here where one Antón Castillo and his son are looking to restore the lands to their former glories – however they can. A revolution kicks in and we find ourselves slap bang in the middle of it, playing through the life of Dani Rojas.

A world of exploration and combat awaits, as the usual Far Cry formula is turned up to eleven. It’s a game that is very much up there with some of the finest titles of the last few years and whilst it doesn’t quite reach the heights of a Far Cry 3 or Far Cry 4, it’s still more than capable of providing the player with a good – highly destructive – time.

Now though it’s time to head back to that land with Lost Between Worlds – the latest expansion. Priced up at £16.24 or running through the Upgrade Pass or Game of the Year Edition of Far Cry 6, it’s playable no matter whether you are on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 or PC.

Built as a thrilling new chapter of Dani Rojas’ story and set in a fractured version of Yara, you’ll find the chance to dive into a rich action-packed gauntlet with deadly crystal enemies, a wide variety of unique gameplay challenges with bewildering supernatural obstacles, and multiple player paths. Expect to find tests of wit, skill, and the need to overcome death itself – or be lost forever.

It focuses on the exploration of a mysterious meteorite impact site, and as Dani, players will find themselves in a twisted space between worlds accompanied by a noncorporeal lifeform named Fai. You’ll need to repair Fai’s broken spacecraft by collecting five lost shards, each increasing Dani’s overall stats for survivability and bringing them one step closer to escape.

In order to find these shards you’ll need to partake in no less than fifteen challenging trials – called Rifts – in which you’ll have to make the most of tactical Chromatic Combat system to defeat Shardfaces, humanoid and animal crystalline enemies, while finding their way to the exit portals.

Each distinctive Rift, such as a shattered fortress suspended in the sky and an underwater Esperanza full of deadly traps, will add in different dangers and otherworldly obstacles. Players can choose how they approach each Rift and will uncover powerful weapons and tools along the way. Glints, energy fragments scattered throughout the area, allow players to revive and retry a Rift, if necessary.

Expect to be treated to a variety of paths, dipping into explorative platforming and some super intense moment to moment action. It’ll only be through a combination of stealth, speed, navigation and more with which you’ll get to harness the power of this world.

If that sounds like your bag and you’re needing a reason to head back to Far Cry 6, then fill your boots. The Xbox Store will give access to Far Cry 6 Lost Between Worlds on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation and PC folk can also enjoy it.

DLC Description:

After exploring a strange meteorite impact site, legendary guerrilla Dani Rojas is ripped from Earth and trapped in a supernatural prison – a distorted version of Yara. To escape, Dani must make their way through a gauntlet of fractured trials to collect the five broken shards needed to repair the vessel. Storm a fractured fortress floating in the sky, swim through an underwater Esperanza filled with deadly traps, scramble down an active volcano, fend off the darkness in a blackout cave, and much more. With some calling for stealth and navigation while others require speed and force, no two Rifts are alike. Forge an unlikely friendship with Fai, your condescending but strangely endearing guide, as you take on enemies including Shardfaces, the color-coded crystalline guardians of the Rifts. To defeat them, you’ll use Chromatic Combat, switching between red and blue ammo on the fly. With every shard you collect, you get powerful gear, weapon upgrades, and tools to help you forge custom shortcuts throughout the map. Upon completion of the expansion, you’ll return to Yara with the most powerful gear in Far Cry® 6 – Fai gear. This game leverages Smart Delivery allowing access to both the Xbox One title and the Xbox Series X|S title.
