Remember Gigantic? Well, the MOBA Hero Shooter is making a comeback as Gigantic: Rampage Edition in April 2024.
There’s no doubt that Gigantic went through the wringer. First landing as a Game Preview title, it wasn’t able to shackle those restraints and release in full until 2017. It didn’t last long, with the servers closed down for good in mid-2018.
But Gigantic is too big to put down for good and in late 2023 those same servers were fired up again, allowing selected players the chance to take in the game for a few days. One. Final. Time.
At least that’s what we thought but now Gigantic is coming back, and it’s doing so as Gigantic: Rampage Edition. It’ll be launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC on April 9th 2024, setting you back $19.99.
What is Gigantic: Rampage Edition?
Developed by Abstraction Games and Gearbox Publishing, Gigantic: Rampage Edition should be seen as the premium, definitive version of the original game. It promises to push out thrilling team-based multiplayer to the masses once more. And it should well be built on too; a Ranked Mode and new Hero skins are promised as free updates post launch.
Gigantic: Rampage Edition features dynamic and exciting team-based multiplayer gameplay, a unique art style and a diverse roster of playable heroes, each with a set of upgradeable abilities. Players will team up with four other players to control objectives and take down the opposing team’s mighty Guardian, all while protecting their own.
In addition to the original game content, Rampage Edition will introduce new features, including crossplay support, new heroes, new game modes, new maps, upgraded content and gameplay improvements.
And yes, as a premium experience, the game will have zero microtransactions as players will be able to unlock all content through gameplay or with in-game currency earned by playing.

A closed beta
If you cannot wait to play Gigantic: Rampage Edition this April, then you may be interested in some Closed Beta Testing. You can sign up over on the Steam page, with the Beta running from Thursday, February 22 at 12:00pm PST until Friday, February 23 at 9:00am PST. This playtest will give players the chance to jump into a new game mode, Rush, not included in the original game, that brings a fast-paced and action-packed Gigantic experience for players.
If not, wait until April. Gigantic is back and it promises to be bigger than before.
