The Gravity Oddity keyart is a seller…

Ever wanted to defy gravity in order to walk on any surface? Yeah, we know you’ve probably done that umpteen times in your gaming life, but you’ll be doing it again in Gravity Oddity

Available right now on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC, Gravity Oddity is the latest roguelike space adventure to hit the market. It comes about via the Invincible Cat development team as they throw gamers into a world of the upside down.

Float away in the world of Gravity Oddity

It focuses on a world in which gravity suddenly disappears, leaving folk to float away from safety. Thankfully a mega-corp – that of Rio Grande – come to the rescue, kitting the population out with gravity boots, helping them stick to the ground. All is good for a while, that is until your mate Gary ups and leaves – taking with him half the owed rent.

It’s up to you to hunt down Gary, and work out what exactly is behind his disappearance. Perhaps it was the upgraded boots he was working on that saw him move out…?

You’ll fall into Gravity Oddity with a teleport gun to hand, hoping to collect mods in order to upgrade things as progress is made. A whole host of skills await in Gravity Oddity in fact, with you pretty much being able to pick the playstyle needed. Throw in a jetpack, tons of enemies and foes, and some deep space exploration, and you’ll find a roguelike space adventure with a twist playing out in Gravity Oddity.

The key features

There’s tons of content too, with key features sitting as…

  • 130 mods with crazy synergies to make you feel OP
  • Intense boss battles to keep you on the edge of your seat
  • Ever-changing levels created to challenge and engage you
  • Customize your avatar and your sidekick the way you want with almost 100 cosmetic elements

“Gravity Oddity is the culmination of experience gathered in indie development across a decade-plus of various titles and all the things I have learned along the way,” said Tim Verrouil, solo developer and founder, Invincible Cat. “I wanted to put everything I love into this game, including the creative chaos that comes from flying around in zero-gravity environments, a funky synthwave and retro electro soundtrack, and a take on roguelike progression that loops into the narrative, all while not taking itself too seriously…”

You can buy gravity Oddity right now

You’ll find Gravity Oddity on the Xbox Store right now. It’s playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, fully optimised for the latter.

Gravity Oddity should also be on PlayStation, Switch and PC too. Expect to pay £11.99 or so wherever you grab this one from.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
