Remember the weird dystopian future that was provided in Beholder a couple of years back? Well, it’s now time to embrace that world again as the tactical strategy totalitarian simulator Beholder 2 launches on Xbox One.
Available right now with a price tag of £12.49 attached, Beholder 2 on Xbox One comes via the team at E-Home Entertainment and sends you off on a mission – one that is fully focused on seeing you unravel the strange circumstances that saw the death of your father. How do you go about this? Well, you make your way from the bottom to the top, rising the ranks of the totalitarian government in order to understand the secrets within.
In Beholder 2 on Xbox One, choice and consequence are at the fore, with many questions asked of you as you attempt to uncover the truth behind the death of your father. Playing as a new protagonist, Evan Redgrave, you’ll have to do whatever it takes to ascend the ranks of the Ministry to secure strict security clearance and gain access to the totalitarian leaders. How you go about that is entirely up to you. You may wish to eliminate your competitors, or could well prefer to help your colleagues to overthrow the totalitarian state ensuring they give up their current positions on good terms. Further still you could just ruthlessly rip apart everyone in your path by framing and manipulating the weak into an early “retirement”.
Reaching the top will mean you get the chance to learn about your father’s death – as well as many other sinister and shocking government secrets. The big question though is, what will you become? And how will you become it?
But what’s more, in addition to your career goals, you must also spend time completing a multitude of side tasks that will emerge based on your choices. This means at times you will just HAVE to help your coworkers on their quests, humiliate others upon request, or find victims suitable for the needs of those in charge. Taking down these side missions see you earn money and reputation, both of which you’ll need on your path to promotion. Better still is the fact that these decisions will also lead to multiple different endings.
