orbital racer xbox

In space no one can hear you scream. Or shout. Or rev any engine. Or drift for that matter. That doesn’t mean nothing is going on up in the black stuff though, as Orbital Racer on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S goes out to prove.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Orbital Racer takes a different approach to all other racers on the market like Forza, DIRT and GRID. Yep, this one lets us break free of any confines of a track, and it fails to have us moving from vast open worlds. You see, Orbital Racer heads to the stars to bring together the joy and freedom found in the usual space simulators, and combines it with the madness of the race.

Priced at £12.49, a single-player racing simulator in space may not be the first game that you are looking to play today, but if you’re in the market for something a little different an wish to mix things up from the usual racing vibes that are delivered, Orbital Racer could well provide it.

It comes with a couple of game modes too – one that focuses fully on the action at hand, throwing you into fast yet satisfying gameplay; a game mode where all-out speed and hardcore power-ups are key. And then it drops you into Simulation mode too – a mode that is all about the realism of navigating through space. And the challenge, because, well, space travel is a huge challenge.

In total Orbital Racer promises much, with key features of the game running as follows…

  • – fully customizable controls
  • – 8 distinct locations, all based on real places in our Solar System
  • – a total of 24 tracks
  • – a full, playable flight school for Simulation mode.
  • – 3 different ship models, each with additional 3 variants
  • – a challenging yet flexible AI
  • – custimizable races
  • – a compelling career mode

Tempted? Fancy involving yourself in a race like no other? You’ll find Orbital Racer present on the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. You’ll also find a review of it up and live on these pages in the days ahead. Hold tight, for in space it’s all about the thrill of the race.
