Best of 2025

If you like your Warhammer, then you would no doubt have loved the original Warhammer: Vermintide. Now though it’s time to ramp things up a bit as Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has rocked up on to Xbox One – and it’s also available in Xbox Game Pass.

Priced at £23.99 for the Standard Edition, £35.99 for the Premium Edition or free as part of the awesome Xbox Game Pass, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 urges to you team up with a few mates and battle it out against the forces of Chaos and Skaven.

At its best via 4-player co-op, you can expect the combat in Vermintide 2 to expand upon that found in the original game to deliver the most intense Warhammer first person combat imaginable, all whilst you take in a new enemy faction, brand new career paths, talent trees, awesome weapons and a new improved loot system.

Those on PC will have already been wowed by what Vermintide 2 brings, but now it’s time for the Xbox One gamers to get in on the action, alongside Mixer integration allowing the streamers out there to have full input from their viewers. A stunning visual look, and a dark, bloody, twisted tale will all combine to see you challenged like never before. Just be sure not to fail, because if you do, the Empire will crumble.

If you wish to get involved then the Xbox Store will sort you out with everything you will ever need – whether that be a proper cash purchase, or a free download courtesy of the Xbox Game Pass. Should you wish to go easy on the old wallet now, but think you may be swayed into a purchase of the Premium content further down the line then it is good to see that available as an £11.99 individual purchase. With exclusive Deeds, themed Skins and more, many will no doubt be tempted.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
