Looking for some old school dungeon crawling? Think it’s time to scratch that Diablo itch just one more time? The Heroes of Hammerwatch are here and with the launch of the Ultimate Edition on Xbox One you’ll find all the content you could ever imagine.
Available to purchase and download right now from the Xbox Store for Xbox One, a day after seeing the exact same edition rock up on Nintendo Switch, Heroes of Hammerwatch – Ultimate Edition promises to deliver a whole host of content and gameplay opportunities, becoming hugely appealing to hack ‘n’ slash and RPG roguelike fans.
Priced at £16.74, Heroes of Hammerwatch runs as a sequel to the classic Hammerwatch. It’s just that Heroes of Hammerwatch expands upon that old indie title in every single way possible. Set in the exact same universe, you’ll find yourself taking on endless hordes of foes, battling the biggest of bosses, and working your way past multiple traps and puzzles in your quest to grab as much loot as possible and reach the top of the Forsaken Spire.Â
Plenty of secrets will be in place too, as will rogue-lite elements with a smattering of persistent progression. This will ensure that as you grind away you’ll discover many opportunities to upgrade your town of Outlook, work with multiple different character classes, and will have fun with more than 100 unique items – all of which come in a number of rarity tiers.
As the name suggests though, this isn’t just Heroes of Hammerwatch. This is the Ultimate Edition and that in itself will see the inclusion of three DLC packs – Witch Hunter, Pyramid of Prophecy and Moon Temple – each of whch will bring even more skills, items, classes and more. And then you can throw in the chance to roll with a New Game+ mode too. And yep, that’s where the real challenge comes in.
